Do I close the request?

Hello, recently I opened a request because I still haven't recieved an item I ordered in the beginning of January, the seller responded and said they would refund me. The request is still open but they haven't refunded me yet, its been like a day and a half. Now my question is do I close the request since a refund is what I wanted, or do I keep it open until they refund me?
I read a bit about this on the help page and it seems the sellers have a "refund buyer" option which clearly the seller is ignorring. I don't want to close the request on good faith but on the other hand they are saying they are going to refund me, do I ask them flat out to do that?

Never close a case before you receive your refund , as another for that item,  cannot be opened with eBay.

It gives the seller 3 days to refund you if they do not,  just escalate the case on day 4 ,  and eBay will step in and force the refund.

if you close the case you won't get a refund!

wait 3 days from opening then go back and ask ebay to step in
