I recieved a winning bid yesterday on the cash on collection sofa I was selling on eBay. I have been messaged by the eBayer to say that he will (probably) be able to collect it next weekend. Hopefully he will but it sounds a bit vague. I know the rule is payment in two days but how does it work for items like this. Can I tie the buyer down to a deadline after which it is relisted. If so what happens about my fees. Any advice much appreciated.
It's actually a payment to be made in 4 days now, then the order can be cancelled. eBay do send reminders to pay after 2.
For a collection item it's fair to keep the item for 7 days , before issuing a cancel order, though I can't see why under this new system, you should be able to cancel the item for a non payment after 4 days.
If you're happy with the colletion date, you can politely message this buyer that you will keep this item until the weekend for them.
