I brought four gold bars off ebay when i came to sell them i was told two of them were fake, ebay said the seller has been banned for selling fake gold and because it was over the time limit i would not be covered, surely ebay should of contacted every one that had brought gold off this seller when they found out, my father was selling a caravan and found someone else was using his photos to scam people, he contacted ebay and the fake sale was still there 48 hrs later, my friend brought a van off ebay when he went to pick it up, nobody was there and he was left out of pocket by thousands, he contacted ebay and it was still there 24 hours later, the aftercare to scams is shocking, it seems that ebay are only interested in making money.
Sorry to hear about your families unfortunate experiences. Ebay are just a Selling Platform. With millions of transactions they cannot offer an after Sales Service other than their 30 day Money Back Guarantee. It really isn't the place to Buy Gold Bars as Ebay wouldn't know they were Fake anymore than you did. As for the Pictures once on the Site than can be used again from Ebay's Picture Catalogue. Your Friend shouldn't have Paid for the Van until they had actually been and inspected it. There is No Buyer Protection with Vehicles.
