Buyer opened return saying item doesn't work after 30 days

I haven't sold much on ebay and this is the first time having someone open a return on me, so any help is much appreciated.

I sold a laptop on the 07/06/21 and it was delivered on 09/06/21. Today I received a return request from the seller stating that it is "not working or defective". They say "something is wrong with motherboard, before keyboard and mouse stop working and then start itself. WiFi signal is very weak". Some of that doesn't really make sense but whatever.

Bearing in mind I'm a private seller, and this is now 32 days since delivery, do I have to give the buyer a refund?

Ebay have already put future funds on hold but I do have the option of declining the refund.

if the time line you quote is correct the buyer won't be able to escalate the case to a claim and it will time out.
