Buyer not paid and asking for personal info

Hi,

I was selling a car at a discount price because I needed to move it quickly as only have one space for a car and now have two cars.

I said in the listing when I would be available for the car to be collected.

Buyer contacted me via eBay saying he wanted to collect cat on Saturday.  That was good by me but I had to cancel a job to make myself available for that.  The job was worth more than the car but I felt obliged to honour the agreement.

No money was received from buyer but he then asked me for car registration which I supplied.

He then said he wanted to change collection date.  I was working and didn't have time to respond.

He then messaged me again asking to respond.  Again, I was still at work and unable to keep checking ebay messages.

Then he messaged me asking for my phone number saying he wanted to talk to me.

I gave him my phone number and he texted saying he wanted to change the collection date (for a third time) to a work day for me.  I said I would struggle to be available then.

Then he texted me a few times saying "it's up to me" implying he wouldn't take the car if I didn't change the date to a day I am working.

Then he asked me for my postcode.  I supplied the first 4 digits so he knows where to go to.

Then he messaged me saying he wants my full postcode.

At this stage I felt super uncomfortable giving out the so much personal information;

Car Reg

Phone Number

Address

When he still has not paid.  When I log into EBay it says to beware and not give out any personal info as buyer has not paid.

I tried to cancel the sale but the only option was to select there is an issue with buyers address.

Now I have to wait up to 10 days for buyer to accept cancellation.

I really need to relist my car.  I had various other people interested in the car but now I can't relist it without his cancelling the order first.

I've reported the buyer but am stuck unable to resist the item.

thanks

Motor vehicles should only be paid for in cash on collection, or bank transfer once the buyer has thoroughly inspected it, and is happy with it.

I can't see an issue with your buyer wanting the address, how can he collect if he hasn't been told?

There is no buyer/seller protection with vehicles.

I can understand your frustration with your buyer messing you about, but could it have been because they didn't know where you lived?

If your buyer doesn't accept the cancellation you will lose your selling fees.
