Hi all,
Rooky mistake made. Set up personal account rather than business account (I think) and have been banned from selling on Ebay. I did call help line immediatley but customer service wouldn't give me a reason for the ban nor indeed talk to me. I have literally trawled help forums etc to work out what I did wrong. I have bought from Ebay for several years now but this was my first attempt at selling. Any advise please??
Your own account should also be register as a business seller.
If your sister in law, used you device or Wi-Fi, then ebay can link the 2 & suspend your account as well.
'' ... enquiring on behalf of my sister in law ...''
When she has completed setting up a ? private Selling account and Payment method, she will then be given a starter selling listing allowance >

Gosh no. It wasn't me that made the mistake. I'm enquiring on behalf of my sister in law who literally set up her first selling account but as can't talk to anyone was just looking for help on her behalf.
Thanks though to anyone who responded.
There isn't much we can suggest to help in the case of restricted accounts. Only eBay knows the reason for your restriction of can do anything about it.
It's possible that your restriction marks a tougher line on unregistered business sellers. You've been a member for sixteen years, so you're not exactly still a Rookie. EBay is now cooperating with HMRC to help identify businesses who are presenting themselves as private sellers.
Whatever the reason, if your restriction is indefinite, which I presume is the case, I'm afraid this means permanent on eBay. I don't think we've ever heard from a seller who has been allowed to sell here again.
they banned you because you were a business seller trading as a private seller in violation of eBay rules and the law.
This is picked up more so now we have managed payments, you are not the only one.
doubtful eBay will let you sell again.
