Account Selling Designer Items Close

Hi All.  Have an account that sells designer clothing items for me which has been closed.   The items are clothes - there are a number of people selling the same.  The clothes have codes whereby you can check their authenticity on the designer website.  Speaking to an (unhelpful) customer rep I don't understand why this account has been closed.  She said 'It can't be proved' that they are designer not knock offs.  When said can see other sellers selling the same items and that there were codes, she was just 'Oh, well' it's tough.  The account is now closed but could someone advise on how we should handle this and explain why ours is closed but other accounts remain open.  Thank you.

Your items have been reported and others have not yet

SOme designers do not like their items on ebay. See the vero link at the bottom of the page

If they report ebay will remove immediately

There is probably no way you can prove yours are genuine and even if you could you would probably

not be allowed to sell them.

Nothing you can do even if you have the receipts from when you bought them.

You can always try

Could also be that you were selling new items and not registered as a business

If you buy to sell or make to sell you are a business and have to register as such

Are you saying that these clothes are made to your designs? If so, you need to register your rights to your brands under eBay's VERO scheme.

If you're talking about other designer brands, the brand owners can and will report what they suspect to be unauthorised use of their brand name. EBay will automatically remove reported items, as has been agreed with the brand owners.

If you are offering a coding system whereby buyers can check the authenticity of the products you should contact the brand owners about this. It's their agreement you need, not eBay's.

If eBay has permanently restricted an account because of repeated brand name misuse this is a very serious matter. Did you know that when an account is banned from selling, eBay will also permanently ban any other account holder they associate with the banned account? You will have to keep your fingers crossed that they don't manage to associate you with the closed account that was selling designer items for you. Phoning customer support to complain about its closure wasn't a good idea!

To be clearer these are second hand clothes picked up from markets or other sources.  They are not new (with or without tags).  They are not copies.

I think you need to read VERO at the bottom of most pages. Many Brand Owners do not allow their products to be sold by any sellers apart from those they have approved. They can just ask ebay to remove items and it will be done.
