I bid on a usb zip drive, my bid was cancelled, the reason 'item no longer available'.
When I look at the sellers page there is an identical item, that wasn't there yesterday, starting at £35 (the original was starting at £20).
It looks very like the seller has removed the original item and re-added it at a considerably higher price after receiving a bid that he/she didn't like.
Is that acceptable behaviour?
I only just came back to ebay, I had an account from 2001 to 2019 and hadn't ever seen this.
Not acceptable behaviour, it is up to sellers to start at a price they are happy to sell at.
Seller will find that they still pay a 10% selling fee.
Did you actually win or did the seller end early, if you were the winning bidder you would still be able to leave feedback.
Unfortunately this sort of behaviour is not uncommon. Sellers start at 99p and then get upset because they only get one bid. Ebay is not like it was when you first started.
