Dear Business Sellers,

This spring, we’re introducing a range of updates, enhanced ways to help you list using market insights, new tools to promote and create offers and a better post-sales experience for sellers and buyers in 2021.

New cancel function for unpaid items:

From early April 2021, we’re gradually introducing improvements to the unpaid item flow where sellers will no longer have to file unpaid item claims against buyers or send buyers payment reminders. You’ll instead be able to manually or automatically cancel the order after 5 calendar days. After cancellation, the item will be automatically relisted and applicable fees returned to the seller.

New cancel function for unpaid items

Katie,

I have a quick question for you with regards to the above announcement.

You said in your post "From early April 2021, we’re gradually introducing improvements to the unpaid item flow where sellers will no longer have to file unpaid item claims against buyers or send buyers payment reminders. You’ll instead be able to manually or automatically cancel the order after 5 calendar days. After cancellation, the item will be automatically relisted and applicable fees returned to the seller."

Given the above statement, with specific reference to the sentence that I have highlighted in red, does this mean that for items listed in Auction format the item will automatically be put back up for auction, thus doing away with the Second Chance Offer option?  The post you submitted makes it unclear as to whether or not the Second Chance Offer option for auction listings will be retained or abolished.  Could you please clarify the situation with regards to this matter?

Would be better if payment could be taken from a registered card once auction has eneded or best offer is accepted. So many time wasters who bid on items or put best offer in then don't come back to pay or communicated.  Not sure what is possible with taking payment that way but might stop a lot of the timewasters.
