beagle breeding - non scientific research

i adopted a beagle -  Mollie, almost 2 years ago from a charity in wales - many tears. i had been looking for a companion for my japanese chin - Chiko and they love each other very much 🙂

today on the Many Tears website is this plea, so i thought i'd cut and paste it for fh+g as i know many of us have pets.

i don't expect the link will work ? so if you're willing to sign it you'll need to enter the details yourself - sorry.

Please read and sign the petition below if you feel this is is something which should not happen. 

Beagles are the dog breed most often used in animal testing, due to their size and passive nature. They and no animal deserves this.

What the petition is for:

B&K Universal have submitted a planning application to build a beagle breeding facility in Grimston, Yorkshire.  B&K beagles are bred solely to be used in unscientific experiments and will – having been force-fed toxic substances such as agricultural chemicals – die alone and in agony.
Last year, campaigners successfully blocked B&K’s plans, however, they have now revised their application and are hoping it will be passed by the local council.

Signed it already and passed it on to a few others. Poor little souls 😞  Sometimes people are totally beyond me, I despair...how could anyone hurt another living creature like that, I don't understand it at all.
