What a whopper!!!

I found this monster munching his way through my fuschias today. He was nearly 4" long. Apparently he is an Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar.

And it's going to turn into one big moth as well.  Lovely colouring on it though.

What a whopper!!!

Oh look after him and feed him well. The Hawk moths are becoming rarer and are such beautiful things ( Mind you I might be biased seeing that a biorthday present when I was about 8 was a 2 volume set of the moths of the british isles!)

What a whopper!!!

Look after them! They are as the other poster says quite rare , beautiful moths & unlike some if you are careful you can get really close to them, absolutely exquisite colours , truly nature at her best!.
