THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

UN wools :^O

No I know, its not really funny 😐  What wool are ya using Huggles, although I probably can't help, I only knit "ickle" things 🙂

Maybe you could call in the shop on your way home anyway & ask there advice 🙂  only other thing I can suggest is sewing with shorter length of wool  ........ pulling the same piece through your knitting alot of times can cause it to stretch, especially if its "delicate"

I'm surprised you don't understand unwools, it's a very technical term. 😐

It's that Twilleys Freedom stuff. Looks sort of only half spun. Bit like knitting with candy floss. 😐

I'm going to close early & nip into the wool shop where they will sympathise with unwooling. 😐

I know the yarn you mean and even shorter lengths do not solve the problem.  Every time it is pulled through, you leave some of the yarn on one side and even causes bobbles. It gets thinner and thinner with every stitch. Even the sweat off your fingers as you are pulling it through causes it to stretch and snap.

The answer is to sew with another yarn that is a smooth one.  I have never used embroidery thread, I get the nearest colour in 4-ply.  Depending on the texture of the garment you have made (lots of holes - proper ones not dropped stitches!) then use a back-stitch to join the pieces together.  If not holey (not church holy you understand) then use an over-stitch.

Now, if you can cast off and cast on then you can do button holes ...... but am liking your idea about bug poppers :^O

Evening

Also ignores cleaning posts (although I have vacuumed, dusted and done some washing today ;))

Don't want to be picky, but mattress stitch is best for joining seams on knitted items.

*remember to call it mattress stitch now I iz postin' wiv de profeshnuls*  :^O

There are still times when I find that only a back stitch will do (large toys for example).  Heavens, there are times when I crochet pieces together!

THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

NICE lady in the shop sorted me out with some woolly darning something stuff. 🙂

Got my bug poppers too.

I want to do mattress stitch, and I've watched the videos where it looks so obvious, but when I look at my edges they're more sort of 'bumpy' & I can't make out which stitch is which.

I'll have a serious try tomorrow (nods ernestly at wise Learned) 😐

And if it doesn't work I'll cobble it together some other way. ]:)
