Had a lovely evening. Meal at Carlucchios with OH's younger son (40 last week) & his lovely girlfriend & one of the bigger grandsons (18 next month).
Have finished all the squares for the knitted coat now. Lots of sewing up to do. Must take pics of my waistcoat!

Well done on the coat. I will be envious when I see it!

You might not be! :^O It's a lovely pattern for dipping in & out of. If you like the finished article you are very welcome to the pattern back, it's not something you'd knit twice! Wool cost about £40 but it's very unusual. I bought a lovely flower button for it made from coconut shell. I also bought some 'invisable' thread to sew it up with but I can't find the end! :_| I'm going to use black cotton instead. The Nomad wool would be a nightmare to sew with.

Merlin this house is full of 'nooks' & stone walls, not cladded real stone, lots of Boris spiders live in the walls too:-D
06-11-2011 10:57 AM
our last house had (real) exposed stone walls
i had a wee round brush thingy on the hoover tube to sook all the dust off, no matter how many times they were sealed they seemed to bleed dust
i loved them, OH didnt so much
its one of the few things we cant agree on
he likes new/modern/sleek
i like old & cosy
dont mind spiders
wish stoopid cat didnt play with them though
she kills them and leaves them 😞

Same here i hoover the walls too but it makes no difference really.
This house was built by an architect for himself so its a bit odd , so it suits us 😄

We used to have Artex on the walls in the kitchen (yes, I know, but it was a long time ago, all the rage dontcha know!) and I used to have to vacuum the dust off them.:|
