Have a lovely time Maggie ...... it sounds fun
I'm wanting to knit something for my niece for her wedding day next month, have spent two days looking for the pattern I know I have it, the annoying thing is I do keep most off my patterns/books together ............ so where on earth is it
If by chance anyone has a copy of Alan Darts Bride & Groom bunny rabbits they would be willing to forward to me I shall be eternally grateful ..... & then I'm sure my own copy will miraculously turn up

It's not warm enough for me! I am still wearing my three layers! lol
The Dorset Button lady had an accident last night so wasn't there but we all sat & knitted squares & nattered which was quite entertaining. Hopefully we will do the buttons next month.

Must admit that my right shoulder blade's been playing up today. That normally means, odd as it sounds, that my neck's going to play up again sometime soon. As well as the blood test thingummy, the doc wanted me to have x-rays on my chest and neck. The chest one apparently is to check if I have an extra rib which, according to the doc might be causing the problems with the ring finger on my left hand. I wonder if they x-rayed my head if they'd find anything in there. Probably not.

Hope you get all your medical problems sorted Chris.
CB - that seems very quick to be going back to work? Don't you rush and set yourself back.
Just finished this cotton jumper, which was part of a Knitalong. Made a bigger size ready for later in the year.

Very nice Mags.

Lovely jumper Mags. I'm going back to the hospital tomorrow for the blood test which is annoying as they should have done it Friday. If they don't do it tomorrow, I've got to speak to the head of department or ring my GP on his mobile. I've no doubt if I have problems tomorrow, my GP won't just be hitting the roof. There might actually be a hole in his surgery roof if they don't or say they can't do it. Fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Your grandson's a lovely little chap Mags. I love littlies. The last time Grace saw us, she asked my mum had she got any nail polish. Bearing in mind, she's only three. Some children are so old headed.

Just got back from the hospital where I was told by a vampire that they still couldn't do the blood test. The little madam was very annoyed when one of her colleagues said that they could. I can see me going back again as GP wants said blood sample on ice but the vampires said that it hadn't got to go on ice. How I wish I knew what was happening cos I don't think they know at the hospital.

This is why I'm so fed up with it all. I just feel like I'm piggy in the middle. The first vampire I saw this morning had a serious attitude problem and didn't like been told even by one of her colleagues that yes, they could do the blood test. A big change from Friday when one vampire said no they couldn't. I've been expecting a phone call from my GP tearing his hair out again. I'm sorry I mentioned the problem with my finger now but it does need sorting which may happen. I'm not saying when though. Never mind, there's plenty worse than me.

Phlebotomists...not vampires.....
A vampire extracts blood so they will happily survive...
A Phlebotomist extracts blood so you will happily survive....
There are over a hundred 'routine' blood tests that each Phlebotomist must know by heart, both the abbreviation used for the test and the tubes used as well as the conditions that the sample must be transported under...a bit like having over a hundred knitting pattern terms that you need to commit to memory as well as the type of wool needed, size of knitting needles to be used and exactly how much it will cost to post the finished item that you must be able to call to mind instantly...
Other well less used tests often have to be researched separately....not all information is immediately available to a Phlebotobist and the Lab has to be rung...
Doctors sometimes request obscure tests when the patient has unusual symptoms which even the Lab has to look up....data changes consistently as new testing methods are developed and what was once done in one way can suddenly be done in another completely reverse manner...often this bit of vital information is not passed down to the Phlebotomist on a day to day basis....
I'm sure the Phlebotomists look forward to your visits as much as you look forward to seeing them...'difficult bleeders' tend to know that there will be problems ahead so sometimes tense up making the job even more stressful for everyone concerned....a vein is more usually located by touch than sight so a tense, stressed patient is more difficult to extract blood from than a relaxed, calm one...
Anyway talking of needles....please can anyone suggest a good needle threader that's a bit more robust than those little bit of wire thingy ones?

If you find some twishy let me know please! I bugg broke about four on Saturday night just trying to thread granddaughter's sewing machine!
Books, I thought you said your GP had given you his mobile number in case they said they couldn't do it again? You should have rung him while you were still there and perhaps you would have got it done.

I was watching an overlocker tutorial and the demonstrator had a long handled tool that she threaded the needles in the machine from front to back by putting the thread in a groove in the end and PUSHING it through the eye. It looked so much easier!!! I want one!!!
