This is a picture I've just found on face book written by the friend that went with my son and two granddaughters this after noon. He said it's nil visibility and he's a little scared (or words to that effect!!)

Looking at that I would be scared too. Try not to worry.

They'll be fine. Had some of that this afternoon, was manageable once I got daughter to stop screaming at me to go slower and son to stop talking philosophy in my ear. Would have been easier if all the cars had put lights on!.

I think being in a plane is a bit more worrying than being on a road in that weather!

Think I'd be a little scared too but am sure they'll be just fine CG

I am with you guardpig ! I would rather be in an aeroplane where ATC have you on radar and radio and keep everyone apart. Whereas on the road you have idiots driving without lights, maybe wandering all over the road and meeting them head on as you take a bend in the road.
I am sure once under a certain height they would have had visibility CG and be fine as your son is too wise to have taken off if unsafe and unable to get down safely.

I'd still rather be on the ground though. You can stop and get out!!! Mind you, I'd rather be on the ground on the sunniest of days! I think he's down now.

Hope that he managed to get down alright CG. We had the heavy rain at around 5.30 and didn't it just rain. Hate driving in heavy rain. You get idiots driving too fast and no sign of lights.

I think so books. I texted him to ask and he said yes, everything fine, so I guess he was!

Gosh, I had that driving to work yesterday morning, it absolutely poured
down, the wipers couldn't keep up with it!
I simply cannot fathom why people don't put their lights on in bad
visibility, I simply don't get it. Are they still back in the '60's where
putting your lights on was likely to drain the battery? Do they think
everybody can see them despite the fact that it's very difficult for
them to see everybody and despite the fact that a large percentage
of them have silver cars, exactly the same colour as the weather?!
Yesterday I had someone in front of me, silver car, no lights, doing
15 mph and braking on bends that you could safely take at 30 mph,
just braking for no reason at all. People who drive like that shouldn't
be out in that weather, they just make it dangerous for everybody
else. Ridiculously over-cautious can be as dangerous as the
idiots who drive too fast.
I always think in that kind of weather that it's only a matter of time
before there's an accident because there are drivers who just
don't think. On the motorway last night, still very rainy and loads
of spray, weaving in and out of the traffic. It was all moving
along fine at about 55mph but for this idiot who was very likely
to cause an accident.

This shows how quickly it can change.
This is the first picture I saw............................
And half an hour later it was like this. I'm surprised I'm not grey!! You'd never get me up there!!
