Thank you mrsstan for telling FHG friends in here about what Sadie and I are doing.
I won't lose my hair lightly - it will be a huge challenge to me. I will focus on the children who need my hair more than I do.
There's no turning back now because we have £74 in our sponsorship fund. My Mam is looking forward to doing the chop (norty Mam!)
Thank you to anyone in FHG who has sponsored us so far - or who intends to list a MDCC item to raise money for our HAIR CHOP CHALLENGE.
How funny that we all have a vision/perception of how someone looks and none of you knew I had hair down to my waist! Mrsstan knew - we have met in real life.

PCC - I just saw your question.
Yes, I will grow it again as I am defined by my long hair. That's why it is going to be a huge wrench to let my Mam chop it off. However, I have been warned that hair growth slows as you get older and I am now 58 years old.
I will enjoy my waist-length hair until September and then see if it grows again after my huge crop. If it doesn't then c'est la vie! I will know that a child is helped.
Would you believe that my Mam has natural-coloured hair aged 88 years old? Never dyed ..... not a grey hair anywhere! And that is after having 9 children !!!!

If you are listing for MDCC but don't have a favoured charity, would you consider listing to raise money for the Anne and Sadie Hair Chop Challenge?
We are donating our hair to enable the Little Princess Trust to make natural hair wigs for children with cancer. My 12 inches of hair being chopped off in September at my Mam's 89th birthday party. She is looking forward to doing it.
So I am on a count-down! I have never had a short crop since I was 16 years old.
Even if you list one item at 99p for this cause, we would be so appreciate of your support.
Thank you

I've never taken such good care of my hair, knowing it's going to end up on a childs wig it is getting far more TLC than it would usually:^O

I know what you mean chocolate! 😉 I am trying to mentally think it isn't MY hair any more - I am just the custodian of it. I am on count down now. My chop happens in the first week of September. (There will be plenty of photos to prove I have done it!)
Can I say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to the £124.00 raised so far.
Thank you for all the fabulous MDCC listings that you lovely people have kindly donated to help us raise the £350 it costs to make one wig.

Oh mrsstan... you think that snippy smiley was funny?!
*runs to hide*
My hair chop is happening on Sunday 1st September so I am on a countdown.
*cries*
Sadie and I have raised £225 so far via Charity Giving (but that money has been ring-fenced by The Charity Commission because of recent concerns with that fund-raising portal.) It shouldn't affect our Hair Chop challenge because we never wanted the money to be released to The Little Princess Trust until December. That gives The Charity Commission sufficient time to sort out what they are doing with the money in the bank accounts.
We have set up a new donation page with Just Giving.
Anne and Sadie - THE HAIR CHOP CHALLENGE
So we will use that new page to raise the final £125 for my hair to be made into a FREE wig for a child, and try to raise a further £350 to have Sadie's hair made into a FREE wig.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.

I bet this girl's mum can't wait for hair chop day! It was a job keeping my granddaughter's hair tangle free and that was only down to her bottom, this must go to her knees!!

I thought of doing this myself, so had a look at the website.
Although my hair is long enough, sadly, it is too grey for them to use.

I wonder why they can't dye it, after all, it's not going to grow different coloured roots, is it? This is asked in all innocence, I've never died my hair so know nothing about it, only that you have to do it again when the new original colour grows through.
