Long range forecasting isn't generally thought to be that reliable;the expectation for next week temperature wise, is much the same though from the forecast I read, a low pressure system appears to be moving in, which would mean less sun ( someone seems to have forgotten to replace the batteries :|) and more unsettled weather, with temperatures about the same. 😐

I was just thinking how much warmer it felt today, a real Spring Day at last 🙂

I know what you mean Tara, I'm usually well winding down on the heating this time of year, but not now, using it nearly just as much as in the winter, and that, with the price rise of gas, is really being felt 😞

When I went for my swim this morning, the car was telling me that the outside temperature was zero degrees. When we were coming back from my Goddaughter's this afternoon, it was plus 10. It's cloudy here at the moment but it's still not very warm.
I just want spring to arrive as I am fed up now - seriously fed up.:_|

we got up to fairly deep fresh snow this morning, mostly thawed now so must be a bit warmer but still using the central heating and the coal fire.

Looking at the jetstream forecast, I would suspect it'll be the second half of the month before it gets and stays warmer.

Still cold down here on the south coast!

It's been better here than last week. I haven't got my thermal vest on or the heating in the kitchen. The Aga's on in here but I put the heating on for a while as well usually.
I hope the jet stream doesn't miss us again this year like it did last year!

Today has been such a treat. I spent 3 hours in the garden, in shirtsleeves enjoying the blue sky and the chance to finally get on with veg planting.
We are all going to have to be more flexible in future - no more March winds and April showers 😞 Climate change always looked likely to increase both our record lows and record highs....... lets hope the jet and gulf streams are able to return to 'normal for us' very soon.
*switches off that extra light*

It was a beautiful day yesterday, I was working in the afternoon, taking some people to a concert in London. There were so many people out in London, I think they all came out before the sun changed its mind, it was out all day long. What a difference, a little warmer but mainly that it makes me feel so much better, seeing the sunshine instead of that constant dreary sky.

CG - the problem is when the jetstream winds are to the south of the UK because they tens to act as a boundary between the colder air to the north and the warmer air to the south. If it's at the right ( or wrong! ) distance south and we find ourselves on the inside of a loop we can get a persistent low pressure stuck over us with lots of rain.
Ideally we do want the jetstream to miss us, but to miss us to the north of the country! 🙂
( If you Google the jetstream forecast you'll find it, but be aware the site is very Java script heaby and although it is a safe site, that can result in it generating false positives from some firewalls and AV software. )

I'll take your word for it peter 😄 I just remember hearing about the jet stream in the wrong place last year and so bringing all the rain.
I know when we were on the west coast of Scotland visiting some tropical gardens, they were attributed to the jet stream. (can't remember why now!:^O)
