Hello and goodbye

I am all for tradition, so I thought I would go back a few years and do a flouncy goodbye thread... lol

I am sad to see that all the fun seems to have been bleached out of the boards.  Yes, there used to be some nastiness in here, and it's a shame that what we called 'The Pinks' didn't do something about it when asked back then.  Maybe if they had things wouldn't have got out of hand and they wouldn't have felt the need to clamp down quite so hard now.  What is left here is a shadow of what FHG used to be. 

We had fun debates, competitions, slanging matches and friendship threads.  We were a community that pulled together when one of our own had problems, and helped anywhere we could. We supported people who had no-one else to turn too.  I suppose you still do that now, but without the fun/fantasy interspersing the real life stuff I can see it getting quite depressing in here sometimes.

Ah well, here goes...

I can't take it any more - I'm leaving... *holds hand over forehead and goes to leave*  *walks straight into doorpost because hand is half covering eyes*  Ouch!!!!  That's it, I'm so angry and humiliated now...  *flounces out of the door*

What sort of things were done for fun then, perhaps we could try and fun things up a bit, I am all for that, I thoroughly enjoyed the quiz night.  Maybe we need to brainstorm and come up with a few things,

IDEAS  Ladies, especially those of you who have been around for a while, I don't know what went on because I haven't really been on here that long, only about 12 months.

I think a lot of the trouble is that people spread themselves thin nowadays with there being so many different social media sites and people don't want to keep repeating themselves with the same subjects on different sites.

I am all for a bit of fun and I have been known to put my two penneth in.  I have been naughty on a few occasions so not that bothered.

I assumed that the Round table was for more meaty subjects and FHG was for  Family, homes and gardens.

I remember the Lady Garden thread.  When I was in hospital having a canula inserted into my groin I heard the Registrar instructing the nurse on what to bring for the procedure, a razor being amongst them.  I sat up and said, no need no Lady Garden, at that my Consultant, doing his ward rounds, lifted the curtain and said 'I might have known it was you'.  So now it lives on in Ward 34 at Ninewells Hospital, the nurses loved it and use the term.

As for 'before' which is puzzling Ed and others, the personality has been sucked out of the board and all because of one nutter, who was all The Furies rolled into one.

It is still a good place with good people and don't I know it   I didn't know until now that last night's thread was pulled.

I think we have tried on more than one occasion to be controversial & as long as it's not vulgar that's fine, & in all honesty I don't think any one has or has wanted to be, I think also we have discussed ladies problems & that is all to the good IMO in fact on more than one occasion it's been turned into a bit of a giggle, but surely that's good it breaks the ice & makes people less shy in coming forward, I have to admit nothing really shocks me & I think it's great when these things are spoken about & if we've helped one woman who is shy & afraid to ask openly then it's worth a slap once in a while,
As to the RT , yes it can get heated but in the main it's a good grounding to learn to stick up for yourself without being personal. I have had a few disagreements on there, but I don't hold grudges & I never have , you can agree to disagree without that sort of thing!.
I honestly don't think you should reproach yourselves on this board if the intention was to unsettle you all then don't let it!
It's the time of year ,holidays, kiddies going back to school, gardens , work, going out more than usual because the weather is good.
The winter will soon be upon us & I'm sure things will be as busy as ever on here. Sorry for the Sermon!!. lol.

I think what they were trying to say is that if anything gets heated or near the knuckle it gets pulled so you don't really have much freedom.

Anyway I will shut up now don't want to get told off for talking about withdrawn threads.

I wish someone would explain why I got a slap. I had a mail telling me "MY" thread contained multiple violations. As far as I recall, the only thread I posted last night was about ceramic saucepans. No post was quoted to me in the message so I am at a loss as to what could have caused offence. When I tried to reply to Jakoby, the sender, I got an "an error occurred" message, and advice to take things up with Lithium. No link or address was supplied, and I have no idea how to do that, or - trust me - I would be doing that right now.. Lest this post is pulled, I ask the Pinks publicly how one has right of reply when one feels one has been unjustly disciplined? Where do I send my questions? As a poster of very long standing, I am disappointed and offended!
