I know there are plenty of threads about the 10% being charged on P&P over on seller central. I have been reading them all day.
At the moment I am in the middle of writing emails to various people regarding this - ie CAB, Watchdog, Dom Littlewood, my MP, Number 10, Rip off Britain and others. It is my opinion that they cannot charge for a service that they don't provide - OK I agree with the fee on final sale price as I have used Ebay as a selling platform...but in my opinion the P&P is a price agreed between buyer, seller and courier/RM. What they can get away with in America does not necessarily mean they can do this under British Law. I think Ebay were in trouble a little while ago not paying the British Government the relevant VAT/taxes - so will they be paying on this new charge.
Does anybody else have any ideas where we could be directing our complaints. Not Ebay as they wont listen. I am happy to write to the relevant places.

NO one will take any notice anyway. Just some more coffers to line ebay's pockets - if you get what I mean!!

Ebay don't seem to give a sheet about us individual sellers anymore.
But what they do do is give bungs to big companies to list their goods at great prices!
I mean - they heavily subsidise items - I know because they do it to my OH's company regularly.
Not fair really. With the increase in postal fees it is just not worth me selling stuff on ebay - the only items I sell are video games which can go as large letters 🙂

eBay are now suggesting that postage cost should in included into product price. This will have the effect of eBay being able to rack in an extra 9 / 10% from fees from FVF. A rip off indeed. Now with this added cost coupled with Paypal fees and, if a true trader paying tax and VAT, prices need to be increased. The only winner will be eBay.

I just sent a parcel that when I weighed it it was less than 1kg and went through the larger hole, when I took it to the PO it weighed 1g over the kilo so I had to pay £5.60 instead of £3.00. Not worth doing anything for 99p unless it is small or large letter because with the fees you won't make any money if the postage is over a fiver. Rip off, when I have got rid of this lot I shant be putting any more on

It won't make a scrap of difference, ebay have no interest in the small seller.
One day they will find they have killed the goose who laid the golden egg.
I already find my purchases from ebay have dropped in the last couple of years as the small individual sellers I used to buy from have gradually disapeared. If I want something from a large company I will either buy it direct or from Ama*on, strangely enough sellers who appear on both sites are usually cheaper on Ama*on.
As far as selling goes - I sell occasionally, large, light items that usually go to the USA, international signed for is already about £18, so buy the time I have added some to cover for ebay's additional 10% the postage will only be a little less than the item sells for - crazy!
