FHG Photography Thread

Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice about cameras (surprise, surprise on this thread!).
I currently use a Kodak Digital, it's slow between photos & I often miss things that I'd like piccies of & I've felt that the low light setting is not a lot of good, I don't think I've ever had a decent night photo, indoor or out.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a digital SLR & would like some opinions. I don't want to go mad with the price,as i don't like to be to 'precious' about things & just want one I can throw in a bag, would like something fairly quick & something as automatic as possible as I probably won't be very good (or will forget) to change light settings etc. Not to many modes (I never remember to use half the ones on the camera I have now).

Any advice please (ps hubby said he'd put half towards the cost as my birthday pressie) Photobucket

oh shady, I think that Olympus one is one that I've been looking at, but all the specs on them just confuse me. Will go off and look again.

Thanks for that Photobucket

Have ordered the Olympus one, thanks Shady, it was nice to have confirmation that it was worth getting as I was getting confused with all the detail etc. I think what had drawn me to this one is that the advertise it as being 'simple', a bit like me! The old brain can't cope with to much lately! Photobucket
