I am also going to purchase and adapter ring so i can also add my telescope onto the end of my camera, i should be able to get some very close up shots of the moon then :)

Brynteg I think the different letters that appear on the cameras are more down to accronym snobery than anything. These adapters should be able to be used on any camera as long as the screw fitting is the same size but check with seller first just to make sure
OK thanks. I've got a 18-55 and a 55-200 that came with the camera and I've ordered Macro Close Up Lenses from someone on ebay that go on one of the lenses. What would you suggest I save up for next? I tend to take close up wildlife creatures and flowers and seascapes as well as general family photos.
Do you have a tripod? if not that could be a good buy also a remote for your camera will get rid of any shake!

Nikon AF means auto focus meaning if you have automatic on your camera it will auto focus
Dx lenses go with the DX range of cameras and wont fit AF models
AF VR means auto focusing lens with vibration reduction
I recommend Sigma DG lens for Nikon but do make sure you buy the Nikon fit

sturos we have a tripod here will have to have a go with that. Haven't got a remote control so that will have to go on the 'wish list'.

brynteg11 no one in particular it is just that if you click on an image and it takes you back to say photoshop anyone can copy your pictures. I would hate for some innocent to have children's pictures taken by pervs!

I was out doing this last night its what they call multi exposure it was fun to do as did it on the beach in the wind and dark but the light pollution spoils the effect a bit
Its not a great photo but fun to experiment with lighting and camera effects
