Deno's Diary Part 3, A new Chapter

Deno (proper name De Novo) was adopted by FHG posters in 2005 when one of them, Shebalator, rescued him from slaughter.

Then - 700lbs underweight with a broken jaw and multiple other ills.




2008 - still struggling with sarcoids but finally fit enough to have a light rider up for the first time so he could
join his mates on a jaunt round the local lanes



2009 - due to sheb’s declining health, a new home was sought for Deno.
A very brave ebayer named upthecreekyetagain ( very apt name I think you will agree) agreed to take him on.
So, now Deno lives in Surrey with the Creeky family, plus 3 lovely mares. He has 5 acres of grass and orchards to roam in and is very happy.



His sarcoids still remain a problem, but a new vet is investigating them further to decide on the best course of palliative care.

Deno is reliant on fundraising and donations for his food, medicines and all the things that make his world that bit nicer.

Towery, they haven't even set a date!  Her man wants to be recovered enough from his accident to get back to work first, but although he's gone through umpteen 'back to work' courses there are no jobs for someone in constant pain who is physically limited and has a form of tourettes caused by the trauma 😞

It still looks rather Swampy in Creekyland.  Distant sightings of the hoofed ones who are probably making the most of early blackberries

Been a while since I posted here I'm afraid - my apologies.

So what's happenned since the last time - nothing really out of the ordinary I'm afraid

Deno got cholic - quickly sorted out by vet with a pain killer and muscle relaxant.

The back wall of the stable block, destroyed by Deno, Posh and Lulu, has been rebuilt and a false rear wall installed to stop it happening again.

Front wall of the far stable was knocked out - obviously in frustration that they couldn't knock down the rear wall 😐  Now rebuilt and reinforced

Corrie still not had her OP to have her thyroid removed - three attempts but every time she gets into hospital they check her blood levels and her thyroxin levels are too high.  Comes home and withi a few days they're fine 😞

The weekend of August 26/27/28 there is an open invitation to anyone who wants to come to Creekyland for a bit of fun.  I can provide tents, lilos, equipment for anyone who wants to come and hasn't got the necessary.

For those who arrive on the Friday there will be a BBQ in the evening - communal breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday morning.  On the Saturday evening we will have a little competition in the marquee - the provisional idea is that we will have pots of hot food such as chilli con carne, pasta etc together with crusty bread.

As usual we will have a cake decorating competition for the children and if enough people are interested a cooking competition for the adults on the Saturday.

All that we ask you to bring is any alcohol needed to satisfy yourselves 😮

I'm sorry about Corrie's op being so much delayed.   Stress can push the thyroid glands accelerator pedal and all the messing about is hardly going to help with that 😞
