Ah yes, I saw your photo - it got a like and a retweet from me.

Yes I saw that, there's also another of the bridge being lowered into place... took them over an hour to just get it up and down! Plus my phone ran out of power, so I didn't bother waiting around to see them putting the pins and stuff in, couldn't really see much anyway! I'll put a video on YouTube later, probably tomorrow, of the event in action!

That should be interesting. I think I'm already subscribed to you there - am I?
01-07-2020 4:08 PM
I.......... have absolutely no idea! I don't actually know how to find out who is subscribed ![]()
Either way, the vid will have a brief screening of past photos', both from when it was operational and others from its removal, before the footage of the new one going in place!

Umm.... on your home page there should be a bit where you can click on to see the non-anonymous subscribers!
I'll have a look for it at on Friday or at the weekend.

Doesn't seem to be working and the management page isn't providing me with anything either ![]()
I was supposed to have been up last night, but I fell asleep really early and didn't get around to making it, very disapponted in myself, I'll have to definitely get it on tonight, locals were wanting to see it too!
02-07-2020 9:23 PM
Sounds like you are developing a bit of a fan club in the area?
03-07-2020 12:29 PM
*Sigh* I'm useless...... I fell asleep again!

I'm in contact with a couple of locals there, one has been providing me with updates and photo's of the work going on down there, unfortunately it's just being torn down with no care being taken to the artifacts, but I'm not surprised! Anyway, gotta get ready for Sunday!

You're not the only one who has trouble staying awake recently. I nearly fell asleep during Ghost Adventures tonight - which given that it was a particularly good one, I'd have been very annoyed if I'd missed any of it as a result!

And again, fell asleep long before I should, then woke up just before 5am and I couldn't get back to sleep!
Anyway, I went back on Sunday, spent a few hours digging, managed to find where I needed to open the new trench, unfortunately the weather turned, so I had to beat a hasty retreat, without getting into the chamber, though this Sunday, I should break through, or at least, uncover the way in properly! Left with a few souvenirs as per usual, nothing spectacular, but interesting!

That makes it sound like you are resurrecting Time Team! Maybe you could do a video in their style...?
Oh yes... this appears to be the 17471 reversi snipe... ![]()

Things are going OK, though I know they're to be set landscaping the area soon, though thankfully, only up to the tree line, which stops before my area of digging.
Here's a pic showing some of the results, from the looks of it, a support beam:

I agree; that is definitely holding something up.
16-07-2020 12:36 PM
Yes, I believe I dug the part of what was inbetween out and there's still part of it in the way, though I do need to clear the top section, otherwise I may not get seen again 😄
I'll be going back to have another look at the part of the signal pulley system, probably this Sunday, plus there's a few other things I'd like to have another mooch at, though mostly I'll just be doing more digging.
16-07-2020 10:38 PM
I don't know why, but I now have an image in my head of "Digger" from the 1970s TV series "Vision On"...
17-07-2020 11:43 AM
I do have my head buried in the ground! Though this Sunday, I should be stood up for a good part, then crawling around on my knees and belly.... as I go inside the passenger subway! That said, best laid plans and all that jazz!
17-07-2020 11:31 PM
Do you have the cloth cap, though...?
21-07-2020 1:33 PM
Unfortunately not!
As you saw from my video over on Twitter, whilst I didn't manage to make my way in, I did get to see inside at the subway passage, though after some contrast and gamma changes to the video, I saw that the passageway is much larger than I had previously thought and less filled in as I thought as well!
Here's a screen grab from the video, I've made some more lighting changes, but you can see further into the void:

Yes, that's much clearer than the one the other day. You know, you should probably try to tag a few railway history people in when you tweet - someone might be able to tell you more about anything you find.
22-07-2020 10:28 AM
I know so few unfortunately!
I'm still analysing my footage, it seems there might be a turn up ahead, or at the least a corner that have to go around, I'm thinking that there are steps underneath the rubble too, as digging the previous area of the embankment, I encountered the top of a wall with the concreted ceiling resting on it which is about the same height as the top of the rubble. I could be wrong of course, but I shall see soon!
