Unfortunately no, my account got put on temporary hold and I was to get a confirmation message with a code number for me to put in to have my account reactivated, but for whatever reason, I would never get the message on my mobile phone! Though last night I went and inputted my landline number and got them to call me with the code, as my phone would not get the SMS message and I am now back on, but things are a little sporadic, keeps flipping from hours todays and back to hours, and I haven't found it yet, I'll keep searching!

Don't worry if you can't find it; it'll be there again every few days and I'll tend to leave it at the top for a few hours when I do. You'll see it sooner or later!

It was a long weekend, Daresbury Station, Moore Station, Norton Station and Preston Brook Station on Saturday, then yesterday, Ewood Bridge & Edenfield Station, Clough Fold Station, ending off at Eastwood Station!!

Lots of discoveries and photos, I hope?

Of course, though these were the best stations: Daresbury Station, Norton Station Ewood Bridge & Edenfield Station, Eastwood Station. Pics in that same order:

Now someone has been looking after those old platforms haven't they?

The one in Ewood Bridge & Edendfield defintely looks like someone has been doing stuff to it, the others are just unused 😞
Went to the area for the old Clifton Branch Line which led up to the Clifton Junction Station I showed you the other week, I found the entrance way to the old Clifton Tunnel, buried of course. The tunnel and line, along with the Junction part of Clifton Junction Station, were closed due to part of the tunnel collapsing, which brought down several houses, killing the sleeping occupants, so they closed the line, filled in and sealed up the tunnel, but the top of the south-bound tunnel entrance is now partially exposed! I walked the line that I could, lots of sleepers still in situ, along with other components, such as switch bases, still in their original places, a true ghost line!

I seem to recall a discussion about that somewhere recently. Probably on a railway forum.

Went back and took more photos of the area, it's actually surprising how much stuff is still in situ after all these years:

That is very true.
Now, from the old to the new... Last week I was on board the VIP launch demonstration run of the new Sleeper train stock, a presentation followed by a 2½ hour ride between Edinburgh and Glasgow via some unusual routings with a guided tour of all the different levels of accomodation on board, and this is what it's like in the highest grade on board.
Quite a contrast to the old ones, wouldn't you agree?

I'm going to have to go with.... oh yes! A definite contrast!! That said, I like to watch the countryside go past, can't do that whilst your asleep, but for those who need it, it's going to be a comfortable ride!

That's true, but on the other hand if you're going a very long distance, like London to Scotland, it saves a day each way - and that's useful when you're very pressed for time.

Personally not for me, I never like sleeping in vehicles anyway.
So many Bank Holiday Monday's these few weeks, pity the weather hasn't held up all the time 😞 A few more stations and tunnels for me to visit this weekend, if it doesn't pour it down!

Yes, far too many bank holidays. I'd rather have the days off added to the annual leave entitlement so that I can have them when I want the3m; not when some civil servant in Whitehall decides they want a day off!

We went on honeymoon on the sleeper train to Aviemore
Bunk beds 😂
We did at least avoid anyone setting up any pranks 😬

I was surprised to see this thread extant

You're not the only one, Wizi! Not sure how far back you read, but don't be surprised if at some point the thread shrinks sharply because I stopped trading on here about a year ago and have since been pondering closing my account... if I do that, of course all my posts here will vanish in an instant...!!
What were you doing in Aviemore? Skiing?

Eek! I've been off the last post position for nearly two weeks!!!
