Ebay has deleted my trusted devices and is blocking me from adding one!

Current laptop has had problems.  Bought from an ebay seller as "A" Grade.  It is not.  Spent 12 hours with Microsoft in six two hour sessions in an attempt to bring the laptop up to standard.  It is still well below an acceptable level.  EBAY VERBALY ADVISED ME THAT I HAD UNTIL TODAY 27TH AUGUST TO RETURN THE LAPTOP TO THE SELLER.  I attempted to return it to the seller.  His resposne was to send an older message.  This seller has made sinsister ad derogatory comments.

Follwoing the Microsoft attempts to repair, I reintroduced the laptop to the Ebay website.  Now, Ebay shows that I have not added any trusted devices and state that they ask when a new device is used.  They did not, and will not recognize this laptop.  They do recognize a much older one though, but it does not show as a trusted device.  I wonder why?  So, I have to go though the lengthy 2FA process because ebay will not recognize this device and gives no option to remove 2FA, but ebay still recognizes the older device!

Ebay has blocked my use of their chat line.  So, no help there, either.  This MAY be viewed as Ebay harassment and may be considered a violation of UK laws.

As an 84 year user, with limited mobility and a 20 year history with Ebay, I am considering closing my account due to ebay's persistent lack of cooperation.

Are UK based ebay staff able to perform?  There are so many issues and problems, I doubt that Silicon Valley would be happy wiith the image that ebay has created on Trustpilot - a laundry list of negative reviews ignorerd and not addressed by ebay.  I wonder why!

Oh dear.  The real problem is that eBay's time limits are strict.  If you miss this you are simply too late.

All you should have done is opened a "not as described case" with eBay through their "money back guarantee".  You do not contact the seller to discuss/argue; opening the case does that.  It also notifies eBay.

Another problem is that you should not have tried to improve things by long words with Microsoft and [presumably] adding or modifying the software.

All you can do now I'm afraid is to contact your credit card or payment provider to see if they will help
