eBay seller support

I have just sold an item on eBay UK which the buyer paid for and the funda are held by eBay.

The Post Office have tried twice to deliver the item without success and the buyer is not answering my messages.

I contacted eBay via their chat and it became obvious they favoured the buyer rather than me, the seller, informing me they could do nothing until the buyer opened a case. They also said funds would not be released until the buyer confirmed receipt.

The buyer is never in so will never advise them.

The Post Office were of no help as the Tracking Number provided by eBay on their printer label works in reverse - if that makes sense.

I cannot get the money for my sale. I cannot get the Post Office to return the item as they leave a card re the delivery through the letter box of the buyer.

On talking to several people at eBay it was obvious they did not care and on asking them to contact the buyer and chase him up I got no response.

Be warned if you are tempted to sell via eBay they favour and support buyers but God help you if you are a buyer.

If there is no confirmation of delivery then payment will be released 14 days after date of order.

If the buyer opens an 'Item not received' claim and tracking shows as 'Delivery attempted' then eBay will find in your favour.
