I purchased an item last April which had a 2 year warranty, the item has failed, initially the seller was communicating with me but has now stopped, I contact eBay who said I should try my credit card company to initiate a despite, credit card company say they paid eBay so eBay are responsible for stepping in! I was hoping eBay could contact the seller and assist with a resolve, it seems the hardest thing to try and resolve. Any help or advice welcomed.

How many thousands of buyers on ebay get caught with the sales patter of warranties, guarantees on products.
ebay only offer the 30 day MBG - after that you are on your own !
Reality unless you are buying from a recognised business - there aint no warranty !
If it is a private seller - forget getting a response they are deliberately avoiding consumer legislation by pretending to be selling unwanted personal items which avoid consumer protection so why would they honour any sale purporting to be a business transaction ?
Most manufacturers will not honour the warranty because it is non transferable from a reseller who is not an authorised stockist or distributor !
In this case if you have the name and address of the business or seller - you can
* Try your payment provider for a reversal of payment or section 75 claim
* Report to trading standards
* Write a letter to the address giving 7 days to respond, followed by a letter before action, followed by small claims court summons
* After that buy again from a reputable business seller who will honour any guarantee or warranty.
