Feedback Removal Refused

I recently listed some childhood items of particular interest to prospective buyers. I have always sold personal items to UK only, making sure that my preferences are set correctly.  When these items went live, I started getting a few messages from eBayers in Asia. I replied politely about no international sales and, to be fair, most accepted that and I heard no more. Then there was the "but I have a UK address" to which I replied "Is it a forwarding freight service?". Again this stopped the conversation for some. However, one interested buyer, after acknowledging using such a service then went and used that company's proxy sales service and bought an item. I messaged the buyer that it was outside of my wishes and the parameters eBay sets out for me to use, and I cancelled the order and then blocked them.

Now, a few days later and I have been left neutral feedback from this buyer, but in broken English reads quite negative. I requested to have this feedback removed and got a reply that I had been unsuccessful in doing so. I then spoke to an agent at length to appeal and got a reply back later saying that again the comment would not be removed. My feedback, before then, stood at 100% across the board, a sign that my buyers trust me as a seller.

So it would seem that the rules eBay sets out are not actually to be adhered to if you can find a way around them. They said that the buyer paid for their item and as such was entitled to leave feedback. My efforts to explain why it was wrong fell on deaf ears. Anybody out there had something similar happen, how do you appeal an appeal?

Thanks

You didn't have a good reason for cancelling the sale.  Anyone reading your follow up will realise this too.

I have sold many items successfully,  to a forwarding company in the UK, the sale go through perfectly,  ss your responsibility ends when tracking shows delivery to that company in the UK if it gets lost on its forward journey  you would not have to refund.

Sending an item to a UK forwarding company is the same as sending it to any address in the UK.   I fully understand not wishing to sell internationally,  I don't as a preference too , but you will lose many good sales by cancelling items being sent to a UK forwarding Company.

eBay will not remove the item as they can see that the buyer was disappointed in not receiving their Man U shirt.

Hi. Many thanks for your prompt reply. Whilst I agree with you to a point, there is an aspect of international sales that I'm still not comfortable with. Ok, so once the item is tracked to the forwarding company in UK, I'm not liable for any further loss in transit. Fine. However, what if the buyer disputes the description of the item, says that it has more flaws than I have described. Even though I don't accept returns for a change of mind, they open a case with eBay for a partial/full refund. This is then when the whole thing becomes problematic for me and is the reason I don't do international sales. It should be that cut and dried in my opinion, otherwise, why are eBay giving you the option for postage preferences?

I recently sold one of these shirts to someone in Scotland. They paid , via auction, a price that surprised me. However, a short time after receiving it, they messaged me saying that they weren't happy with the shirt. I invited them to return it if they so wished, which they did by opening a case for refund. They provided pictures of what they were not happy with and I got the shirt back. There is a difference of opinion of what they were disputing but it was all done amiably and I processed their refund promptly. The whole process took a couple of days. I don't want the hassle of that happening with one of my items on the other side of the world - it's why I don't do international sales.
