Don’t want to use simple delivery

I sell items that are antique and fragile, think 130 year old books, war medals etc. These items need more packaging and insurance, I used to use tracked 48 and Special delivery. Now I don't get a choice, I need the old system back. I hate sending off items untracked as it leave me wide open for "item didn't arrive" and I can't claim more than like £20 from royal mail. Also not to mention the fact that I'm losing money as I have to pay for fuel, tape, packing etc.

Anyone else frustrated or have a way around this?

You're right    but I also found this,  just to make it slightly more difficult to assess can one send those items through SD,  or not!

Yes, antiques can be sold through Simple Delivery,  but with limitations. Antiques can be sold on eBay using Simple Delivery, but it's not always the default or only option, especially for items of higher value or specific types. Some antiques, particularly those with value, may require alternative delivery methods like Royal Mail with insurance or specialized couriers.

Me beginning to think they should have thought of another title and not  ' Simple' Delivery' !

Some of mine are of what I would consider "higher value" but I still does not give me an option unfortunately.

I agree, it doesn't feel very simple

I stopped selling when SD appeared, so I have not faced the actual format, but if you scroll past the Simple Delivery postage prices,  is there not the availability to issue your own postal preference, postage price,  and insurance at the very bottom ?

Screwy Delivery?

If eBay had, as is routine with sensible businesses, researched first AND if eBay now goes on to heed feedback, they could develop SD into something that customers like and even prefer. It might even bring back somee of those sellers who've left eBay in numbers due to SD. When customers can chose whether to shop on eBay or go elsewhere, to achieve most income you need to use the 'carrot' not the 'stick'.

I hate it as well and I don’t want to use the prepaid labels. Already lost money because I haven’t been able to list items the way I want to. So frustrating!
