Don't buy heavy items from eBay sellers

I won't be buying anything heavy from eBay again.  Item arrived damaged and unuseable. Weighs 18kg, (above the safe legal weight of 16kg for a woman to lift).  Return label is for Parcelforce.  Have to take it to a post office/depot.  I can't even lift the package off the floor!  Offered seller the additional £4, to have ParcelForce collect from my home address. Seller's gone silent.  Knows I will lose the case, (and £99.99), if I don't return by cut-off date.  Spoken to an agent and, although very pleasant and  understanding, can't do anything.  Amazon collects returns from home.  Will use them in future.  Going to close my eBay accounts, (one for buying, one for selling), once this is resolved either way.  Too much risk and stress!😱😱😱😱

As far as I'm aware ParcelForce don't charge for collections from your house? we've never paid for that service like Royal Mail.

Thanks so much for your reply.  Much appreciated. Both the seller and the eBay agent have said I have to take it to the post office/depot.  I believe this is due to the return label that has been provided.  Still have 4 days left before the case is closed, but so stressed with the whole situation.  Wasted my weekend trying to sort it.

Or you can book the collection yourself, if you have the tracking number etc: Use this link:

Oh wow.  Thank you!  Have searched everywhere on the ParcelForce website for something like this.  Will try it now and let you know if the problem's resolved. 🤗

Nope. 😪 Think I need to be the seller to use this:

'Please enter your PFW reference number and either the delivery postcode, collection postcode or the email used to book the parcel so that we may further assist you:'

Unless I'm missing the obvious!?

You may not be so don't worry!!

Wait til the morning and ring their customer services line, they should resolve matters for you. Number is 0344 800 4466

EDIT: You will of course need the tracking number of the parcel, your home address (of course!!) and where its going too (possibly) I presume you have the label on the parcel already?

I have now left a message on their X account, so hoping they will come back to me tomorrow.  Will phone their customer services too.  I have the label:  not put it on the parcel yet, in case the seller gets back to me.  Thanks so much for taking the time to reply with such helpful suggestions!  All gratefully received. 🤗
