Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
Our eBay Community Team is made up of anita@ebay, marco@ebay and dave@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order, and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

Hello,
This message is for Marco.
I wrote on here last week about buyers getting around the unpaid strikes requirement and successfully buying even though they had previously been blocked on the same day and appeared in my Activity Log as blocked for unpaid strikes.
I got the following response from Marco -

Hi johannadee, thanks for your question.
I would need to look into this for you to see what happened, but I will look into those item numbers after the chat, and get back to you with an update between today and tomorrow.
Thank you,
Marco

I have heard nothing since. I am now almost at the deadline for applying to remove the related negative on the first of these and I was hoping to have some information to support my application. With regard to the second, The item was, as I predicted, returned in perfect condition. But it still cost me the postage on another transaction that should never have been allowed to happen.
Marco, do you have any information on how this happened, please? Apart from dealing with the neg I really want to ensure that it doesn't happen again.
Thank you.

Good afternoon
Can I thank Marco for resolving the issue with my shop search bar. I wanted to reply earlier this week, but I see replies are turned off.
On another subject, I see that ebay have put out a statement saying the way they review feedback is changing to make it fair to sellers. In light of this decision, will ebay look at previous feedbacks that now cover this policy?
Best wishes

Hi johannadee, thanks for your update.
This is still in my radar, but I don't have a final outcome on this as of yet. However, I am expecting to give you a proper update on this by the end of the week. Thanks for understanding.
Thank you,
Marco

Good Afternoon All,
Once Upon a Time if one made a mistake in marking an item Paid, one could easily find a handy option to Mark as Unpaid.
Is there any chance you can have a little word with Mr eBay IT Engineer, to perhaps reinstall this, in my humble opinion, essential option , as we do hear very often, there's a post today, relating to this easy to make error, and then you're stuck, probably with the buyer now not being able to pay .
Thanks !

Thank you, Marco. It is reassuring to know that it is being investigated.

Hi lincolnshiremarine, thanks for your post.
Thanks very much for the kudos, and feedback.
Regarding your question, as long as the feeback is within the appeal window, you will be able to appeal them with the new policies, no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

No problem at all, johannadee.
Just remember that the update will be posted in the original post, which was in the question of the weekly chat last week. So, I will tag you on it, so you can see it. 👍
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @tressygirl, thanks for your post.
That's a good suggestion, and it is something that has been brought to our attention previously. We've flagged it to the team before, however based on different factors and priorities, not all the suggestions are implemented. I'll flag this one again, and hopefully it can be taken into consideration for the future updates.
Thank you,
Anita

Hi Marco
Can you see if we are still within the appeal window. Its the one negative we had, we did everything ebay CS informed us to do (I have transcript) we asked the buyer to raise a case with ebay and help us with the delivery courier and heard nothing back. Then sent a threatening message about feedback. We followed the correct procedure via the book.
Can you tell me if this can be dealt with again please?
Best wishes

Oooo, yes please do tag me. Otherwise I may still be looking for it next week!
Could you please send me a link to the Feedback Removal Request form. It is day 29 since the purchase so I think I need to do it soon.
Thank you again.

Thanks Anita, I appreciate not all suggestions can be implemented , but glad you agree that this one could be worth a second look, fingers crossed, I'm sure it would help many.

Thanks for your reply, lincolnshiremarine.
We are unable to review feedback ourselves, but I can send it for review to see what happened there and see if it can be removed or not. Just confirm the item number please, and I will do that for you no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

With regards to the 'new' feedback policy, would it be possible for a one-time-only reset on requests we've already had denied? I've got several that really should have been removed but got 'computer-sez-no' on them.
If the rules have been changed, surely we should get another request under the new rules?

Marco
I would really appreciate that. The item number is: 195499296166 Transom corner fenders.
Will you include this information too so it can be reviewed fairly.
The item showed the parcel was delivered on time, via the ebay tracking and on courier website. It was delivered to there safe place with a photo.
24 hours later the buyer message us to claim the parcel was stolen. We spoke to ebay customer service to advise what we should do. They advised to ask the buyer to raise an item not received case and to contact the courier to sign a form to confirm it was stolen. We also provide photo proof of the parcel.
We heard nothing back and no case raised with ebay, then we had a message form the buyer to say they would leave the worse feedback possible. We ask them again to kindly raise a case with ebay and help us with the courier and nothing back.
We did everything ebay told us to do, this has not happened to us before, and we feel it is unfair as we followed the procedure as per ebays advice.
Best wishes

It depends on the reason they were denied in the first place but if they are within the timeframe for removal you can try to appeal again.
If they are outside the timeframe the feedback is locked and its impossible for us to remove it.
Thanks,
Dave
