Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team- 22.10.25 @2pm

Hi everybody!

 

The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.

 

Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!

 

Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay, marco@ebay and dave@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.

Hi,

 

Are you aware of an issue with being able to view orders at the moment?

No orders are being shown with just a large red explanation mark being show on the orders page. I tired to contact support to ask but the bot says “live help isn’t available” how am I meant to run a business when I can’t see my orders and can’t contact support for help?

Any news on how to list bladed items -a letter opener- with SD and age verified postage? 

Was my question from last week and was promised to receive more news today after an investigation.

Hi @ak_craft_crazy ,

 

I have checked orders> all orders and they seems to be showing ok. There is some missing details on the summary part on the top of the overview page with a red exclamation mark. That is temporary and being worked on to resolve.

Dear team 

given the current glitch and the amount of posts on the boards (and social media) re not being able to access the seller hub, no doubt the influx of calls to CS isn’t this a perfect example of why you should have a technical sticky thread on the boards? 
“We are aware of….”

Would really be a a better way to communicate, as the system status reveals nothing.

Not many know, but there were some serious issues with the AWS servers being down earlier in the week and that had a huge affect on a lot of online platforms including eBay.

There were no announcements that I know of from eBay regarding this, but begs the question, why is there no redundant backup in case of such a huge service outage??

That leads to me to what I see today.

This is is one of our accounts when I click items awaiting dispatch, but both our accounts are like this:

Then I click the My eBay or see the seller hub and I get this:

What exactly is going on and why are we being left in the dark?
What about all of those that run auctions and get no bids as the platform is clearly ran on a shoestring budget, else there would be 100% uptime and at least a back up if it all goes west, as it has again today!!

 

How exactly can we use this to help buyers when it is clearly not fit for purpose?

Do eBay know that April Fools Day is on 1st April and only once a year and not every other day?

Yes this on the summary page, however when i click on orders (whether all orders, paid and dispatch, awaiting dispatch Etc) nothing is being shown.

I have tried on a number of devices on different wifi but still showing the same. My royal mail collection is happening soon and i cant even look to see what orders need dispatching.

Hi @paulblueandwhite 

 

This is still with the Simple Delivery team. It seems to be a category issue, not all of them have the have the option where it could be needed. We are reviewing the list of categories. For example, there are some tool categories where it's needed but doesn't seem to show.

 

Leave this with me a little while longer and I should have a resolution.

I don't know if you have seen the thread I created about the message from Ebay?

 

Important Temporary Issue With C&C - UK eBay Community

 

There have been no further updates so far from Ebay. One member replied to say they contacted Ebay who said '   Evri have created 15,000 incorrect postage labels.'  - is this true?

 

There are also a lot of posts saying that Evri tracking is showing return to sender.

 

This is all causing a lot of confusion. What is going on?

Hi @cobwebcottage ,

 

There is a technical issue that has affected Simple Delivery Evri Ship-to-Store labels. eBay have sent communication to to all sellers impacted to advise of this so if you have received an email it would be because you recently generated one of these labels.

 

eBay are asking if parcels have not yet been dropped off then not to do so and eBay is currently working to resolve so will provide an update as soon as possible. Items that have already been sent will most likely come back to the seller.

 

Please also note that performance will not be affected  by any delays caused by this issue.
