Postage Charge not credited to my account on GSP sales
Hi, I’m looking for a resolution as to why Ebay are not crediting my sales account with the value of postage on items I have sold via GSP. I have contacted customer service agents 3 times in connection with this (refs SR# 1-483962219975, SR# 1-483963436115, and SR# 1-484106699536) and despite being promised an email response with 24 – 48 hours, I have heard nothing since I raised the issue 14 Aug.
I have two current examples, items 166363650546 (Scart Lead) and 166881264809 (Porsche Cover) and would appreciate your help in getting this resolved ASAP. I do not know if this issue applies to other sales I have made via GSP as they are no longer visible to me.
Item 166363650546 (Scart Lead) was advertised at £5.00 + £3.80 postage.
The Ebay calculation is below and the fees of £1.02 were deducted from the £5.00 leaving £3.98 which was credited to my seller account. I believe the fees should have been based on £5.00 + £3.80 postage (£8.80) and then the calculated fees (£0.94 + £0.03 + £0.05 + £0.25 = £1.31 + VAT of £0.26 = £1.57) deducted from the £8.80 (I calculate the credit as £7.23 not £3.98).

Similarly item 166881264809 (Porsche Cover) was advertised at £225 + £7.25 postage and I agree a sale price of £175 + postage of £7.25. The Ebay calculation is shown below and the fees of £29.98 were deducted from the £175.00 leaving £145.02 which was credited to my account.
The ‘based on figure’ of £192.94 is the item price (£175) + US Sales tax of £17.94, it has not taken account of the postage of £7.25. I believe the fees should have been based on £175.00 + £7.25 (postage) + £18.68 (sales tax @10.25% on £182.25), a total of £200.93.
The fees (£21.44 + £0.70 + £3.62 + £0.25 = £26.01 + VAT of £5.20 = £31.21) and sales tax (£18.68) should then have been deducted from £200.93. (I calculate the credit should have been £151.04 not £145.02).

Hi, is it allowable under eBay rules to have items which have language of an offensive, obscene or sexual nature and/or drawing of genitalia or would that be a breach of eBay rules?

Hi, is it allowable to have in your listing description that you wont give a refund and that the eBay money back guarantee does not apply to this item?
21-08-2024 2:02 PM
Hi, it is allowable to sell a digitally delivered item and not a physical item on eBay?
21-08-2024 2:02 PM
Hi, is it allowable to sell an item ie a 9cm brush and then have a different listing for a 10cm brush or must both items be in one listing with a multichoice option on size?

Hi, is it allowable to have in the listing title (and listing images) an item showing an item containing a package of 2 items, yet in the drop down selection a price for only 1 item (not the 2 in the title) therefor providing the item with a lower cost than the 2 items advertised in the listing & listing images?

Hi, is it allowable to ask buyers to contact you outwith eBay to provide information on the sale (ie ask buyers NOT to contact you through eBay but instead provide a different method of communication outwith eBay)?

Hi All,
Saw this answer earlier today, is this true ?
' For any unjustified negative left there may be a chance for Customer Services to remove it, but if the member leaves a follow up feedback, the negative feedback will not be removed'.
Is this true, I've never heard of this.

Hi noslek, thanks for your question.
I'll be happy to follow this up for you, so I will reach out to the GSP team and see what's happening with your case, and as soon as they come back to me, I will post back here to provide you with an update.
Thank you,
Marco

Please can we get international tracked on the buy labels page - there is currently only international tracked and signed, which is more expensive. Also the option to insure above £50 is missing, in those cases I have to go to the Royal Mail website to order labels, which is much slower than buying directly from the Orders page!
(Although after a couple of years of asking, international postage still won’t print correctly on 6 x 4 shipping labels…)

Thanks Marco. I'm thinking that this cannot just be a scanio unique to me so might affect others also. I'll look forward to your future response.
Regards
Kelson

Hope you are all well.
I raised this question a few months ago but the issue is even more prevalent and nothing has come from it.
When we raise issues or complaints via this forum if they are seen by eBay staff we are told they are passed onto the department but they do not take inward communication, once again I ask is there any chance managers from these departments can join the weekly chat so we can direct question to them, can reply with any queries they have and actually help eBay make their site run better.
i was told this was passed to the relevant team last time but since then I have spoken to managers in shipping, finance and AGS and all have said it's a good idea but they've never been approached, so it seems whomever it was passed onto didn't do much of anything.
Alternatively does eBay ever plan any open forums with its customers (sellers) where we can actually help improve the site as like I mentioned the board is great but issues are still around weeks, months and even years after they have been raised and passed to the team.
thanks

Hi @custom-giftsuk ,
Please see the link here for the eBay listing policies. If you have specific listings that you find are against the policy please report them on site.
Thank you,
Kat

Double post as you can't ask 2 questions, is there a link to book into seminars/workshops at the open event please, there was a link last year but myself and many others didn't know/couldn't find it so missed out on some which may have been helpful.
thanks

Great to see ebay is finaly attempting to tackle the issue of private sellers who clearly run a business to avoid things like buyer remorse returns and take advantage of lower fees from final value promotions.
As a small business which ebay keep claiming to support. Why is it that the private sellers who have avoided responsibility to regulation and breaking many ebay rules get rewarded with a free featured shop till the end of the year then to top it off ebay are giving them free final value fees as well?
All we get is bombarded with can you pay us more in promoted listings emails to go towards staff bonuses.
The message from ebay currently to small businesses is do the right thing and we want you to pay even more yet break the rules and we will give you more for free.

There some are allowed and others are not. You can find more on the electronically delivered items policy here.
If you believe an item is against this policy you can report it through the report an item link on site.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi @custom-giftsuk ,
This would not be allowed to be stated in listings descriptions. eBay listing polices can be found here
and listings against these policies can be reported on site.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi custom-giftsuk, thanks for your question.
This would depend on each case, really. Normally, you'd list one item per listing, unless you use multi-quantity listings. For further information, you can refer to this link.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @custom-giftsuk,
As long as its not a duplicate you can list an item as a multivariation listing or as separate listings. You can find more information on multivariation listings here.
Thanks,
Dave
