age verification

Has anyone managed to get past the age verification issue at the moment.

I am trying to buy a canteen of cutlery. I need to verify my age with a credit card.

I go to the verification page and get an error and am told to contact customer support. I have contacted and had 54 different responses none of which have worked.

Attempting to register the details of a valid credit card to your eBay account can sometimes be problematical when attempting to do so via the app. The first step is to ensure that you have the latest version of the app installed. If this does not prove efficacious, switch to a PC or laptop. If you still encounter difficulties, check that the card IS definitely a credit not debit type, and that the details of the card EXACTLY match those held in your eBay account - e.g Marti on your card and Martyn on eBay will not work for age verification. 

 

In the following thread you will see screenshots of the process from a PC... it should be an easy process to upload a new card taking a mere minute or so

If you are still seeing an error message it would be best to call CS again at 8 AM to get an agent from the Dublin Centre (excellent service and highly recommended here in the Community) by clicking the following link - if it's anyone else just hang up with "Sorry, wrong number" and try again...

Sorry,  only a ( monthly payment statement ) Credit Card entry to confirm your age is acceptable to eBay --- nothing else will do !! --- an everyday use Debit Card will not be accepted

I have a credit card on Ebay. I have removed it, re added it, added a new card and still nothing. The last contact with customer service said there was a technical issue which would be resolved in 3 days That was Wednesday. Now Sunday. Myself and the seller are very frustrated.

Gosh, that does sound extremely frustrating!

 

Silly question perhaps, but when you attempt to pay it is that credit card you can see as an option and use at checkout, or has it not appeared as yet?

There is an open ticket with our tech team for this, its being worked on to resolve as soon as possible. Once we have an update from tech on the fix we will update the threads.
