Should I give the seller the Collection Code before I collect? e

A seller says that a Collection Code is needed now in order for him to receive the funds that I've paid however,  we've agreed that I'll collect the item in a few weeks. The money has already been taken from my bank account. 

Is this right? 

If I give him the code does this mean that I've accepted the item and that all is well? 

If so, would I be unable to resolve any issues with the item when I do collect it?

You do not give him the collection code until you have actually collected it.  It's proof of collection and you haven't collected it.

bro help this my first time buying on ebay and they asked for the collection code and i gave it to them without knowing, i tried meeting up with them and they never showed up how should i resolve this????
