Hello,
Yesterday Morning my wife told me a small package has arrived and it was so light. I said I have only ordered heavy items, feels like nothing is in this.
Behold, a flimsy item worth 2 cents, I have attached a photo of the item, the original item was supposed to be Mercedes HUB caps, set of 4 which would weight at least between 200 to 400 grams, sellers postage letter displays ‘11 grams’
this is the second Chinese seller has done this to me and his response?
return to sender to get a refund, amusingly, this item isn’t even on his item list for selling.
his message below:
sorry,You can open the return on eBay. and please choose "no longer needed" as the reason for the return request, ebay will provide a return label for you, and the postage will be borne by the seller. When the item is returned, we will refund you. Thank you for your understanding.
Best Regards.
(my wife said return this flimsy thing and spend your time, maybe the seller knows its hoops to get your money back for an item not even worth 5 cents)
I was hoping it wasn’t a Chinese seller but once I read the postal letter with a Chinese address and a UK Birmingham address, including a Chinese name, I was baffled. How do they do it?
As this is the second item a Chinese seller has done this to me with, they send such a small item worth garbage, last time it was a small ear ring that was the size of a pea and could be broken with small pressure?
Anyone been through this? I might switch to Amazon, done with ebay…

If the parcel tracking shows as delivered then eBay would close the case in the seller's favour.
I believe that you should be able to close the request for yourself from Request Details in the item page of your Purchase History, and then open an INAD.
If not, contact support via the link I earlier included for assistance.

First off, dont choose "No Longer Needed". eBay will make you pay for the return out of the refund.
The photo clearly is not 4 Hub Caps centers. You need to choose "Not As Described" then the seller is forced to refund or give you a UK returns label.
There are tell tale signs of chineese sellers, however if you look at the bottom of the listing make sure they are a registered UK business with a CRN (Company Registration Number). Item location dont mean a thing as you can see form your photo they used a fufilment center.
Saying that it could be possible that the labels got mixed up and the fufuilment center messed up.

Do not pay any heed to the seller whatsoever.
File a Return Request choosing Item Not As Described as the reason from the dropdown menu.
If you do as the seller suggests the cost of return shipping would be yours, whereas following the steps above will mean the cost would rightfully be borne by them.
Ultimately they will not pay the £20 return shipping fee and you will be fully refunded and keep the item.
If the seller sends a label without postage paid - this is the usual next step for overseas sellers - simply wait until you can ask eBay to step in or contact eBay reporting the problem, using the link below
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Do not close the case manually for any reason - it will take care of itself once you are refunded.
Please do come back here if you require further advice at any point the process.
Sellers based in China often use the address of a UK warehouse/distribution centre - one needs to look at seller details to reveal their true location.

Thank you all.
i did raise a case with ebay and its open as item has not been delivered, I should have read your responses before doing it and should have chosen item not as described ‘return’.
I hope ebay don’t go on the sellers side with it being delivered etc

Thank you all, refund has been processed. I cancelled the case and selected item not as described, drove to my local post office shop 5 mins away. Soon as the item was scanned, I got the refund confirmation.

I never buy from Chinese sellers on ebay.
Chinese items are often poor quality.
I spotted a USB oscilloscope on ebay for £12 from a Chinese seller.
I alerted ebay it was sold everywhere else at £50 a pop.
I was ignored.
So the seller went on to sell 212 items at £12 each.
After about 3 weeks the negs started rolling in.
Then ebay pulled the listing.
2 weeks later same strategy but from a different Chinese user name.
This is why ebay insist on a proper bank account now.
I went on Ali Express one night only to find someone had bought £360 worth of goods without my permission. Luckily HSBC were good about it and reimbursed me.
Ali Express had stored my CVV number so anyone who got into the account could buy easily.
I bought a model railway loco off Facebook market place.
Buyer gave me paypal address to pay and so I paid for it.
After a week item didnt arrive so I asked seller where it was.
He insisted I hadnt paid.
So onto paypal to get my money back which they did after an investigation.
