How can I see my purchase history before 2017 which is as far as it goes in the drop down box?

That's it,  7 years of purchases are only available for you to view.

It's been a recent change before you could only view 2 years of purchases.

Were they paid through PayPal?  Those details may reach back further ?

You can request a report of your older transactions by date range here:

Reports take a week to generate, and then you must use the resulting link within another week before it expires. Transaction data is quite basic: item name and number, date, price, shipping, seller username. No pictures or descriptions.
