Feedback

Feedback. Asked today to leave feedback for an item I bought. The page has changed! The choice of neg, neutral and pos remains the same but now I am being asked to leave comment. No comment no option to post the feedback. I have better things to do with my time than write comments where a straight tick on pos tab has worked well for many years. Upshot- no feedback left. A pointless change in my opinion. I wonder if this thread too will be removed?

Re: Feedback

Just put a dot as the comment then the system is happy!

Re: Feedback

I'm a bit confused. The recent feedbacks you have left have had comments, and I always thought you had to leave a comment, even if as suggested above it was only a dot.

Re: Feedback

I don't like the fact that the comment (last time I left a feedback) was only to rate the *item*. I want my feedback to reflect whether the seller  is a good 'un or not.

Lets face it , a lot of items just 'do what it says on the tin' ; how a seller deals with a buyer is often way more important.

Re: Feedback

Indeed i have left feedback however that is for those who have purchased from me. Oddly there is a different page and system at the stage where i want to leave feedback for goods i have purchased. I use a desktop pc on windows 10, it may be different for those with smart phones.

Re: Feedback

Completely agree. I was politely asked for feedback on a recent purchase and found I had to enter around 300 characters in the comment field before ebay would accept the feedback. That is completely ridiculous and I will not bother with providing feedback in future if I have to write chapter and verse every time.

Think you misread that ' instruction'  it's not a minimum of 300 words,  but a maximum.

 ' Received with thanks ' ,  even '  Received ' ,  would be accepted.

End of the day, feedback is voluntary you have 60 days to decide whether to lave some or not.

Not so. The maximum is 500 characters (not words!) and I had to type around 300 characters before the "Keep going..." message went away and the Submit button was enabled. I do realise that feedback is voluntary but in this case I was asked nicely for it and decided to oblige.

Re: Feedback

It is also automatic these days, with the option to override.

So don't leave feedback ebay will leave it for you.

Order completed successfully – tracked and on time, is an example of the auto feedback.

Bonus with this you will get much more feedback.

I've had 30,000 plus sales on ebay over the many years I've been selling feedback  7791.

Live long and prosper

Re: Feedback

I have been just inserting a single full stop which enables the submit button for me. Ignore the "keep going" message.
