Feedback from sellers

I have recently bought 8 items, taking the time and trouble to leave positive and detailed feedback. Only 2 sellers have replied at all! In future I will only leave negative feedback. All else is a waste of time and energy.

You have 12 feedback and since you only opened your account in June that is good.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to receive feedback after every transaction? And surely feedback is much more important for sellers to receive rather than buyers? What can buyers' feedback say except that you paid?

If you only ever leave negative feedback it won't look good for you. Sellers may mark you as a trouble maker and put you on their blocked list.

If I were you I really wouldn't worry about feedback. just carry on doing what you are doing and eventually your feedback will build up to be a few pages long.

Perhaps that's how sellers feel as they can only leave us buyers positive feedback?

eBay have created a system which is outdated - eBay's fault, not sellers'.

Feedback from sellers

Just to add, some sellers leave feedback until they have built up a lot, and leave it all at once, to save them leaving individual ones all the time so there is still time.

Feedback from sellers

Hi thanks, you make a very fair point. Being mainly a buyer, I think my
best solution is simply not to leave feedback.

Feedback from sellers

@winf6585  You make a good point. I am guilty of not leaving feedback very often. I tend to do it if someone goes above and beyond to help me get the right size or part  etc. I do like to get feedback, just to know my description was accurate etc. One thing I do notice is that I nearly always refund unused postage if someone buys two items and part of doing that is a message to the buyer. I don't remember a buyer ever sending a message back thanking me for doing it.  Every time I think "I'm not doing that anymore", but haven't stopped yet. Just be true to yourself.

Feedback from sellers

As a seller, I only leave feedback for buyers after they have done so. I am not going to risk saying how great a buyer is when they still have the chance to become the buyer from hell. When received, I always reciprocate. As a buyer, I leave feedback as soon as I have received the item and am satisfied with it. If the seller doesn't leave feedback, I couldn't care less, I don't need anyone to  feed my ego.

Feedback from sellers

I take your point, but as I stated in my first post, I left detailed and
positive feedback on every item. It is not a question of ego, but a simple
acknowledgement that a buyer has built up the seller's score by taking the
time and trouble to leave good feedback. If sellers are truly not bothered
about receiving positive feedback, what is the point to leaving any? It
only takes a few seconds to type 'thank you for your feedback' after a
positive response to a transaction.

Feedback from sellers

This is just my opinion, but I don't honestly see the point in sellers leaving feedback for buyers saying things like "Great buyer" and "thank you" for just doing what they are supposed to do, pay.

I can understand sellers need for good feedback, not so much buyers though. Buyers can only ever have 100% positive feedback anyway, it's impossible for them to have anything else.

I prefer looking at their feedback left for others personally, as you can get a really good idea of what sort of a buyer they are.

Just my opinion as I said.
