BUYING SECOND HAND VIRGIN TIVO BOXES

I bought a second hand Virgin Tivo box from Ebay,

Only to find out that you can't use a second hand one on your virgin account as a second box to use in another room.

You have to purchase a new one direct from Virgin Media.

So all boxes being sold on Ebay are potentialy useless as they can't be used as intended for.

Don't waste your money !!!!!!

They are property of Virgin Media and shouldn't be sold

You are in possession of goods that don't belong to you

Open a "not as described" case (item doesnt work), wait for the return label to be provided by the seller and return it for a full refund

Blame Virgin for not taking the boxes back. They provide a leaflet with a web address telling you where you can recycle the box. They have an agreement with some recycling company.

Going into the website I was informed that my local Tesco is one of their recycling centres. Partly true as they take batteries, printer cartridges etc. The closest site which would take my box was 20 miles away. My old box went to the electrical section at my local tip.
