Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

Hi all, can anyone recommend a label printer that I can use to print self adhesive Royal Mail shipping and customs labels please? Currently I use a standard printer and paper I can no longer stand the cutting and sellotaping! 🤪 thank you.

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

I’m a big fan of the Jaden. Works from any device, easy set up, excellent print quality. Have a look on YouTube for some reviews.

Had it for around 2 years.

I’m sure others will be along with other recommendations.

I recently got a Beeprt BY243 from eBay for about £80. Cracking little printer, takes the RM labels and is pretty quick and so far reliable.

I picked up a munbyn, great printer, works with rolls or fan feed labels, but also does a variety of other fancy labels

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

Zebra thermal printers are by far the best bit pricey , but they just work, i have one for my business so as you can imagine it prints allot, had it 4 years not a spot of bother.

I had a zebra (still do) but I got fed up of it wasting 2 labels every day for "calibration"

I've never calibrated mine never needed to it just worked straight out of the box.

The label you can get for free from royal mail business account ordering consumables

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

they called it calibration, it was an ex dhl printer, just annoyed, super reliable 8yrs on but that wastage just annoyed me, free labels or not

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

So you bought a second hand printer dhl have hard set shipping labels set to their printers , you need the zebra calibration tool to override, but its testament to how reliable they are DHL would have used it to death themselves then it lasted a further 8yrs and counting,

The only wastage i have is when we have a power cut it then spits one label out, that i then use for something else.

Even invoices are reused hear so very little is wasted. our oldest accounts get reused when no longer needed.

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

I tried everything under the sun, I used to switch it off every night so that didn't help, the munbyn is great though it does little holographic sticker I can put on my products and takes up waaaaay less space, plus I can use the zebra if it goes pear shaped

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

Zing was cheap and works fine, not used much

Dymo - Used Daily, Good physical product, Software issues with Windows updates which is a mare, Dont buy original labels, alternatives  work fine despite the manufacturers worries (15 years no issues)

The newer 5th generation Dymo printers have firmware that only accepts original Dymo labels - there is an NFC chip in the cardboard core of their newer label stocks. For that reason they don't even accept older Dymo-branded label stock as it won't have the NFC chip. It's a pity really as my 4XL has been going strong for many years but when it needs replacing (if ever) it will be replaced with a Zebra.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

Ouch, what a cash cow

I pay £1.60 a roll of 260 for a LW450on this platform

The same product from Dymo-Express, guessing they are affiliated comes in at £6.70

I have a spare, they often come up cheap on selling platforms, had mine for close to 15 years now

Definitely Zebra. Had mine 10 years and do 1000+ labels a month.

Re: Shipping Label Printers - Recommendations?

We have a GPrinter GP-1324D, use it daily and haven't had a single problem. It takes generic label rolls so you can buy unbranded. You can usually find them new for around 60 quid.

Completely agree. Done 5000+ labels with no problems so far. My model is GK420d.
