Negative feedback given but has disappeared

I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she  claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

You see? You breached ebay policy. You were asking for it to be removed.

That would have been so much harder / impossible to remove if you had put "Poor quality item". Instead you had to mention the claim - and that is the simplest feedback to have removed!

Accept the blame yourself for your own actions.

This has to be the worst ebay experience I have had from a seller in all the years Ive been buying from ebay. The seller sent wrong item but refuses to agree with that and blames me for ordering the wrong parts!! I double checked on the compatibility charts as shown underneath the product and it says that its for my car with my engine code. Nowhere does it ask for the chassis number!! Nowhere. Made with Cheap plastic with the sensor pins siliconed in..once the van is started and bottle is under load the electric plug and pins shot off together. silicone was still wet ive had to stick the pins in with ct10, learnt a leasson buy vw. Certainly the 2nd and last have mentioned eBay disputes, so they will be gone without question, if the seller asks.

I recently did a survey on my own feedback and based on my sales I
currently get about 42% of buyers who leave feedback so the feedback system
is unfit for purpose anyway as it doesnt truely reflect the situation.
I have been told by ebay themselves that they DO remove negative feedback
if it adversely affects a top sellers figures so this only adds to the fact
that the system is useless.
This is also why none of the regular 'ebay experts' who always defend Ebay
no matter what (& claim they receive no reward for doing so) have failed to
make an appearance on this subject.

As already mentioned... keep negs short and sweet, and don't mention eBay, and there's way more chance they'll stick.

wow and now ebay have removed another, so from having 6 negative feedbacks  a few hours ago it's now down to only 2, no doubt it will be zero negative feedbacks

They have now made an appearance!!! What they don't realise is that the reasons they're using to defend eBay removing negatives are as stupid as we're claiming they are. They aren't really helping the case that eBay only removes negatives for a very good reason!!!! I have 71 screenshots of my sellers feedback profile. I would check every 2 days & would only take a screenshot if negatives were removed!!!

Negtive feedback is removed only when ebay find the buyer has not been honest in the problem and that occurs in many more cases than you can imagine.I had one removed because the buyer say the item was broke on arrival.He send it back and it was his  old item obviously weather beaten and aged and with  many dirty deposits on the item  and broken in 4 places .He kept my new one fitted it to his car and sent back his old one.Then he gave a negative to add insult to injury.It was sent back with no outer box  or packaging and stuffed in an old jiffy bag.I produced the evidence to ebay  and they removed the negative that was fair  of them.They know all the buyers tricks !

The buyer had left 4 negative feedbacks and no positive feedbacks !!

This is your one experience & I'm not denying that it's true & if the buyer did that, I have no problem with that. My experience with the seller I kept an eye on was dealing wth an absolute narcissistic nut job, & this exact term has been used on trust pilot regarding this seller. They eventually did change the description of the item to the sizes that I stated. 71 screenshots with up to 6 negs removed in one go & you think these were all people trying to pull a fast one??? If eBay are removing negs for the silly reasons given by some EJW's on here, then e Bay is being dishonest & helping sellers to scam buyers

Every large entity has a forum like this one so they don't have to pay real employees to answer phones & questions. There's always a load of people with nothing better to do to fill the shoes of real employees

No one is denying that ebay removes feedback based on their policy, their policy is to remove as many negs as possible to keep the site looking clean & safe for buyers, taking a risk that they won't have to refund too many buyers. Similar to their policy of allowing a negative to be changed to a positive but not the other way round. Also, what "EMPIRICAL" evidence are you talking about??? You mean just you giving us your spiel is empirical evidence???

Might I suggest, that next Wednesday, at 2pm, you make a post on the Community Chat, showing the FB left, and then removed, and ask for a detailed explanation of why each was removed?

You probably won't get an explanation, more likely a bland, meaningless "doesn't comply with guidance" or similar nonsense, but I live in hope.

Don't rant at the Community Team - they are only trying to help (usually), but try and keep your question short and to the point;  their response will be interesting 😉

You really aren't very good at defending eBay, the above comment is meaningless, pointless & is exactly why many are rightly complaining about eBays policies. How does mentioning a case affect the buyers experience??? The fact that the seller ignored the buyer until eBay was involved is exactly something I WOULD WANT TO KNOW about a seller, not the colour of their underwear!!!!

I would want to know if a seller has to have cases opened against them before they even try to sort things out so please just stop repeating this ad infinitum!!! The fact that that eBay do this is purely to protect their site from too many negs & exactly why the feedback system, isn't just useless, it's a massive con!!! Smaller sellers that don't have the power to remove genuine negs like larger sellers & they suffer as their 3 negs stick while a larger seller can have hundreds removed

You may not like it... I don't like it... most folks here don't like it, but the fact remains, that mentioning an eBay dispute IS grounds for having FB removed.

As I keep repeating, if you want neg FB to stick, keep it short and simple.

It doesn't get to me at all. I was more curious about the seller I investigated as I wasn't sure if eBay was removing the feedbacks or, if the seller had founf some way to manipulate the site to remove them themselves. One trustpilot reviewer said he saw 16 negs disappear in one night & that sparked my curiosity

completely pointless talking to ebay again as i found out about my case, they just give you lip service and complete nonsense replies that dont really stack up, i like there their opening line quote " i see you have been with ebay for 14 years, thankyou for your loyalty"  not for much longer at this rate as clearly once a part/item fails after the 30 day ebay moneyback gurrantee you're on yoyur own, i dont mind taking part in this community chat as it's good to bring this to light again and show exactly what ebay is up to
