Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

Looks like some members are experiencing  this too, a technical glitch re dispatch / delivered times.

eBay we are told, are aware and working on the issue.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

This problem is not new - it was happening all of last year and will be even worse if Royal Mail are allowed to amend their delivery dates for second class mail to Monday - Wednesday - Friday.

Last time I spoke to eBay their argument was it says "estimated delivery date" but we all know that customers think this means it will be delivered on the first date.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

Yeah exactly. This is not viewed as a problem, it is 'working as intended'.

I checked some of my Christmas post. Dispatch date 30th December. Delivery date - 30th December. Doesn't help that my local area was basically under water last week either. The year has not started well.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

I came on here this evening to check if others were having the same problem of unrealistic delivery dates.  Purchased 13th Jan with 1 day dispatch, 2nd class post, estimated delivery date 14 - 16th January.  Just nonsensical.  Seems Saturdays are being included as a dispatch day also.  Customer purchased last Saturday afternoon, 2nd Class, first posting date available is clearly Monday but estimated delivery of Monday - Tuesday was given and buyer opens item not received case on Wednesday.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

The buyer expects the item on ebay's estimated delivery date - its like it's a PROMISE!  I will be editing my listings to 2 day dispatch again to gain a bit more time on erroneous estimated delivery dates.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

Don't bother !!!

I too used to use RM 2nd Class and had 2 day dispatch and ebay always told buyers to expect next day delivery or the day after.

Just one of the reasons I don't sell on ebay any more.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

I have just had a warning notification on my phone that one of my items is overdue. Ermm no it is not, everything is dispatched daily. This item was sold on the evening of 9th Jan and dispatched first thing in the morning 10th Jan and tracking uploaded.

No message in my messages and no email, just a warning notification on my phone.

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

I have two business policies. One for medium to large items and one for small. Both policies have a 3 day handling time and a 2-3 day delivery time. I cannot therefore understand why two items sold on the same day are showing different delivery times. The larger items have a 2 day additional delivery estimate to the smaller. I know this has been done to death but how is it possible that these estimates are working as designed according to eBay. I have been working very hard on ensuring I meet these estimates but I feel like the goalposts are moving on a daily basis

the thing that really makes me mad is how it’s possible that the buyer is shown a delivery date a day before the latest posting date

but I guess this is eBay. No logic to anything

That's ebay's AI for you. We have a single postage policy: 1 day handling + 2 day tracked delivery. Same courier, same service, same posting location. For several weeks we had delivery times shown as 1-3, 1-6, 1-7 days depending on the listing. Even if posted to ourselves - 0 miles... ebay at its best!

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

When will the estimated delivery dates 'glitch' get 'fixed' please?  Ebay?

Today's orders - dispatch by 3rd February (I revised listings to 5 days dispatch as was away for a few days) - delivery dates shown to buyer 30th January - 4th February.  Based on Royal Mail 2nd Class Post.

This is SO WRONG it is just silly.

Bearing in mind that buyers can open an item not received case if the item hasn't been received within the estimated delivery time this is going to result in so many defects and extra work/time explaining to customers/ebay etc etc

I'm having to send every buyer a message explaining that ebays estimated delivery dates are incorrect and not feasible.

Really, Ebay, how can an item dispatched on 3rd February possible have an estimated delivery date of 30TH JANUARY.

THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW

Estimated Delivery Dates yet again!

What glitch!!!!!!

There's no glitch now.

There never has been a glitch and there never will be a glitch.

It is and has ALWAYS worked perfectly.

Just because 10,000 sellers say its wrong just shows that they are ALL delusional

What obay says is right must to be correct simply because ebay says it is and ebay is never wrong or telling lies.

And for their next trick these geniuses that can bend the laws of time to suit themselves are going to make Delivery Simple by doing even more complex calculations to give sellers ebay's perfect solution for every transaction.

But only for those lucky private sellers whose sales don't really interest ebay or their buyers who don't really matter because they're probably mostly low value so ebay won't loose too much before it too is working perfectly and making ebay even more money than it was when they were paying fees.

Is everyone having the same issue with estimated delivery dates or is it just the chosen few?  Do I need to waste my valuable time ringing ebay somehow and asking them to sort this out?

30 minutes with CS agent who says they have escalated to technical team multiple times and always told there's nothing wrong with the system and it is all working correctly.

This is an IMPOSSIBLE situation.

Orders sold today on 2 day dispatch (31st January) and 2 to 3 working days delivery showing as estimated delivery 31st January to 1st February.

Technical team please note - it is NOT WORKING CORRECTLY.

It’s working as designed by eBay. Working so your late delivery defects increase and your inr case rate keeps as very high

so frustrating   I think they ignore your handling days. I have tried extending mine and it made absolutely no difference to the estimated delivery dates

we are working to goalposts that move continuously

Another one here:

having stopped showing 7 days finally, 'Free delivery in 2-3 days' is shown to buyers now, eBay still fails to show correct delivery estimates, for example:

- if item gets purchased today via '48h other courier' service, ebay informs a buyer of:

Free delivery in 2-3 days

Other 48h courier

Estimated between Sat, 1 Feb and Mon, 3 Feb

That estimate should include: 1 working day for handling + 2 working days for delivery. As we offer 'other 48h courier', eBay is not in a position to declare Saturday a working day due to not being able to establish if the courier chosen offers delivery service on Saturday

- if item gets purchased today via '24h other courier' service, ebay informs a buyer of:

Other 24 Hour Courier

Estimated between Mon, 3 Feb and Tue, 4 Feb

Postage: £7.99

Each additional £5.99

That means eBay states that if customer pays additional fee for a faster service, they will get it delivered later than using the standard free service. The estimates were taken for different postcodes, with the same results.

Cease and desist request sent, done with it.

It has only got better - now it shows we deliver within up to 10 days with 48 tracked service, and 1 handling day... We are suing eBay for damages - the decision has been just made. Will keep the post updated.
