So with 2024 drawing to a close, please share your favorite autographs of the year. They don't have to be the biggest names, just those that mean something to you.
In no particular order, here are my top 10 of 2024:
Bob Ramsey - I'm always on the look out for new Star Wars signatures, especially from the OT, hence was thrilled to able to add this to my collection, even though not on a SW photo, the rarity of it made it a must have for me
Laura Kenny - I've been a big fan of Laura's since she burst onto the scene and have her autograph on several items, photos, FDC's and books but I have wanted to add a signed shirt to my collection for a long time and was finally able to do that this year.
Emlyn Hughes - As a big Liverpool fan, he was the only European Cup/Champions League captain missing from my collection and I have been looking for good example at the right price for a good few years now, hence was well pleased to be able to add this cleanly signed book to my collection.
Pat Roach - Another name I have been after for ages, mainly to add to my Indiana Jones collection but I have been priced out of getting him on an Indy photo and its not very often a clean undedicated example comes up at the right price so I was pleased to finally add him this year
Mark Hamill - always happy to add one of the big 3 from the OT to my collection and got this at a price that was just too good to resist
Katee Sackhoff & Tricia Helfer - I always regretted not getting one of their Outlaw Hobbies photos when they came out but as I was never into Battlestar Galactica, I never quite pulled the trigger. Ever since Katee appeared in The Mandalorian, I have been looking for one of these so please to pick one up a couple of months ago.
Maggie Grace - I loved her in Lost and Taken so as soon she appeared in Fear The Walking Dead I had to get her on a photo from the show. It took a few years but when she done a signing in the UK this year I took the chance to get this done (through the show send it service)
Ruth Jones - As the only one of the main 4 Gavin & Stacey cast I didn't have, I was pleased to receive this back TTM a few months ago when she appeared in theatre
Craig Johnson - As one of my favourite Liverpool players of the 80's, I have wanted to add Skippy to my 86 Double Winners shirt ever since I started it so was thrilled to be able to add him via a private signing in December.
Bryce Dallas Howard - I love her as an actress but I have enjoyed her work even more as a Director so jumped on the chance to add her to my Star Wars collection on this behind the scenes Mando shot.
You've had a great year, Greg. There are some great additions to your various collections including some lesser known names.
Once again, my return rate has been pants but, I was really pleased to get a reply from Dame Helen Mirren.
I also got a really nice reply from Jason Donovan. I have a friend who has a birthday just before Christmas so, I thought I'd get her a stand out gift as she's a bit of a fan of his. This was the result on a 7" single.
Back in March I met the very lovely Fraser Heinz at comic con. He kindly added his sig to a photo already signed by Deberah Watling.
My best purchase has to be Edward G Robinson for less than £35. He's one of my favourite actors and at that price, how could I refuse? Pity the pen was running out but, I'm very happy to have it.
