I used to know Charlie Chester, (he was a comedian and radio presenter for those too young to remember) and I remebered I'd kept some Christmas/birthday cards he'd been sent. I dug them out and thought I'd put them on here when it was quieter. No one mega but I thought it would be fun to share.

Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed seeing those. I miss Bernard Bresslaw as much as Peter Cushing. He was such great fun to watch.

Paul :-x. Usually the argument is "you only married me for my money". "You only married me for my Peter Cushing autograph" would be a first.

What a great collection of signatures -- I love the Bert Weedon. I suspect that nearly every guitarist from my generation still thinks of Bert Weedon with admiration. Even though I play mostly country blues , I know that I still do.
Charlie Chester was a very decent guitarist himself in his early years and could do a very good rendititon of many of Jimmie " The Singing Brakeman" Rodgers' songs - complete with yodel ( I wonder if Jane knows that ).
Did he still play and sing when you knew him ?

Patrick. I know he wrote quite a few songs, including for Cliff and the Shadows. I don't remember hearing him play a guitar but I know he was very musical. He couldn't write music and had to "doo daa do da" it for someone to put on paper. I have a lot of fond memories of a very kind and generous man.
Thanks all, for your kind comments and interest.
