Time to resurrect this thread for anything related to autographed books. I'll kick off with a purchase today -

Born Wild HB 1st by Tony Fitzjohn, OBE

Tony's new book has recently been released and we picked up a signed HB 1st at half price in a British Bookshops & Stationers promotion. Very pleased as Kelly and I were only saying the other day it looked a book we would both enjoy.

The Don HB 1/1 2007 by Willie Miller

One of Scotland's best ever footballers. Picked this up on eBay for 99p plus postage. Apart from some slight dj edge knocks, book is like new.

Found another signed book in "The Works book shop".

They have a sale on at the moment, Bargain buy at £2.99. They still have a few Chris Ryan signed books and the Phil Vickery signed autobiography plus I came across a Barbara Taylor Bradford signed Novel too,

Peter Baxter (born Derby 1947) was a producer for BBC radio, in particular he was for 34 years the organising brain behind Test Match Special

Peter joined the BBC in September 1965 after a spell in British Forces Broadcasting.

He first worked on the Test Match Special in 1966, and produced it from 1973-2007.

In tandem with his work on cricket he was also the rugby union producer for eight years and the University Boat Race producer throughout the 1980s.

He co-ordinated the BBC's cricket coverage from every one of the Test-playing nations, and has also frequently been part of the commentary team himself. Baxer commentated on the end of the 1992 World Cup Final between England and Pakistan in Melbourne

Nice one Alex. My works has had little in the way of new stock recently. The BTB book you saw is probably the same one I picked up signed for the missus a while back, but she thought it was a crap read. 🙂

Just wondering how do you know that the books for sale in The Works are signed.  Do you just flick through them to check or is there a sticker on it to tell you that it signed by the author

I just pick each book up and flick through the pages, Occasionally you will pck up a book with the Signed by the author sticker on the DJ. None of the Chris Ryan signed books, about 8, have a sticker on them nor do the Phil Vickery autobiographies...But the BT Bradford book has the silver/Blue sticker on the front...Don't be afraid to check all the books on a table or shelf.went through about 25 copies of Michael Caine's book last week...found nothing.

Great find that Alex. Nice book. Wouldn't mind one of the Phil Vickery books myself. Keep looking in "The Works" in MK but nothing signed as yet.

Stuart, The next time I'm passing I'll drop in and pick one up if they are still available, I always put the signed one's to the bottom of the pile ;-).

I got this Alan Brazil book for £1.99 plus postage from ebay I now have both of his books signed . Nigel if you want my unsigned copy of this book please let me know .
