Time to resurrect this thread for anything related to autographed books. I'll kick off with a purchase today -
Born Wild HB 1st by Tony Fitzjohn, OBE
Tony's new book has recently been released and we picked up a signed HB 1st at half price in a British Bookshops & Stationers promotion. Very pleased as Kelly and I were only saying the other day it looked a book we would both enjoy.

I popped into the local charity bookshop yesterday, where I bought 2 mint condition Ellen Macarthur books for £3.00. Then took them to literature festival and got them signed by the lady herself. And a very nice person she is too!

#26 - If a genuine, signed to title page with no dedication, hardback 1st edition bought at a reasonable price (cover price or less) or one of the red cased limited editions at cover price or less, you would have a great chance for a future return.
eBay sale prices have dropped dramatically already. They were initially selling for about £200, but now you can get them for about £50.
Do not go near any with bookplates attached. Nowhere near as valuable as signed to page, and most of the bookplates will be autopenned.
#27 - Waterstones limited editions do not always sell out and you can often pick them up for bargain prices later. This one may be different. Kenny is one of my all time favourite players of any club, and I have a feeling it will be a big seller for Waterstones. I ordered one yesterday.

From my local British Bookshops & Stationers. Half price promotion - £9.99 instead of £20.00. They had quite a few of these signed, all 1st editions. I think he is one of the funniest men around right now.

The Works had some new books. Picked up one for sending out and got two signed copies of Peter Mandelson's HB 1st edition from this year for £4.99 each. One gratefully goes into my collection alongside my other New Labour signed books, the other will go on eBay. Here's the one I'm keeping -
