R.I.P. David Bowie

Quite shocked when I heard the news of David Bowie's passing earlier today but, what a legacy he leaves behind. So many great songs.

I was devastated when I heard David Bowie had passed away . Bowie has been a huge part of my life since I first heard his amazing  Ziggy Stardust LP . Since then I bought every record he released , I bought the 7" singles , the LPS , the CDs , and all the reissues I have a big Bowie collection . I bought his latest CD Blackstar on Saturday I played it a couple of times on Saturday them a couple more times on Sunday along with a few of his earlier CDs I will be playing a few more tonight .

I was luck enough to see him live in Glasgow in 2003 he was amazing my brother managed to get me a DVD of that show I have watched it a few times since then  .

My only regret is I don't have David Bowie's autograph , one day I'll own one I hope .

Look up here, I’m in heaven

I’ve got scars that can’t be seen

I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen

Everybody knows me now

What a beautiful post.  Well done to you.  I was also shocked to hear the news at 7.07 this morning.  Very sad indeed.  Nice to hear Radio 2 playing loads of Bowie tracks throughout the day in homage to a modern icon.  He will be sorely missed.  R.I.P. David Bowie.

Can't believe it either.Bowie was massive in my life as a teenager growing up .I had every track he'd ever recorded on viynl up until 1978.I still have evetything he's done all on downloads.I saw him over 70 times up to 1975 and over 100 times in total.I had penfriends all over the World sending me programmes recordings memorabilia etc.Ziggy was my true hero,I was lucky enough to get his autograph personally several times but my pride of place is the small Ziggy Stardust cover I got signed by all four members of the Spiders after a gig in 1973 .(top left in photo)Sadly only Woody about now.Such a sad day.

Stunned when I heard the news this morning. For those of us in our 50's, we grew up through the Bowie reign. A fabulous artist and a great influence to so many singers of today. A genius. RIP Mr Bowie.

Big shock this morning............Very sad news indeed.

Again I'm in my mid 50's and have quite a few LP's in my collection. Bowie and Ferry were all I listened to at one point.

Big Loss to the music industry today.

We all croak (fact of life), but few of us leave an imprint that will be remembered. David Bowie was quite simply a genius artist who paved the way for so many. His ideas, styles, visuals, words and music will continue to inspire people for generations. Michael Eavis said he was up there with Sinatra and Presley. Maybe Presley, but Sinatra was not fit to shine Bowie's buttons and sequins.
