Sad news hearing of the passing of Lancashire born Oscar winning screenwriter and actor Collin Welland, famous for writing the screenplay for Chariots of Fire and his role as a teacher in Kes, among many other film roles, sadly lost his fight against Alzheimer's yesterday aged 81.. Thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time, RIP Colin
