One today.

I wrote to comedy legend, Eric Sykes back on the 4/1/11 and had a reply today. I am hoping it's ok as I know he has problems with his eyesight these days and after so much time, I did wonder if he still signed. Any comments will be welcomed.

Nice result Suzanne. I do hope it is okay. He is one of this countries greatest comedians. Well done.

I have often wondered if Norma Farnes signed on his behalf in recent years. Here's the signed book I found recently. It's the k that throws me. The k appears to be in all the examples I have looked at, but it would also be logical he has dropped the k more recently. Do not have time to look further myself.

Just to add a bit more. The reason I have concerns about the ttm sigs is that when Eric signed his bio which came out in 2005, as you can see from my earlier example, he had a shaky sig.

I sent a book to him in 2010, and also asked for Norma Farnes to sign it as she wrote the forward in the book. Eric's sig is too neat for my liking, and if you compare it with Norma's, there is a similar flow to curves, etc. At the time, other collectors told me it was ok, but I did have my doubts. I forgot about it, and they resurfaced when I found the bio recently. The ttms are all like the one in the book I sent him. Just slight variations on the upper length of the k.

Thanks Nigel. The first sig in the autobiography is definately different to the one in your other book and the one on my photo. I have to believe it is a sec. I would prefer a letter to say they couldn't sign. It makes it so much easier.
